Was able to tell it to check for updates. Then it went in after the patch it got.

how did you do that?

Options next to play button.

Was grayed out originally, but then became selectable after letting it sit a few seconds.

ok ill try that too

This is like my ISP the other night telling me that they were doing maint to provide me better service. My reply “Just having it up and working would be “better service” ffs!!”

Sure, that’s not how it usually works during patches though.

Yeah, you can normally log in and stare at the server list all day, somethings broken

Alright so I was able to fix the one computer by manually deleting the contents of classic folder. then in the battle.net app i selected the gear icon, and selected uninstall burning crusade classic (yeah i know we already deleted the folder). after it “uninstalls” i hit install again and then “check for updates” and it’s working fine now. This should fix anyones issue. Remember to back up your WTF and Interface folders. The version is still at 42800 but it allows launching the game etc.

SCANNING AND REPAIR WILL FAIL DONT TRY IT.

The final version seems to be 2.5.4.42801 but 42800 seems to launch as well. this will also fix the error #154 when swapping from retail to tbc before implementing these steps. i am not saying this is the only solution but it worked for me after pulling my hair out.
