KEEP 10V10 RBGS IN WoW

Well said Winterz -
Personally for me, if 10v10 battlegrounds are to be removed - this will take away so much for the game. As someone who has participated in pve and PvP communities - I’ve fallen in love with wow the most over 10v10 rated RBGs- the Strats, the lasting bonds I’ve made with friends - the competitiveness- this will damage communities that have been built within world of Warcraft. I hope this isn’t true-

They said

“There is an overhaul to our rated battleground system coming with War within (…) those who have paid attention to our battleground blitz (…) We’re happy to move to that ( Blitz ) as a default for how rated battleground are going to work going forward (…)”

I’m aware - which is why I said… it’s going to allow me to play with people like Fatfreddy.

If Blitz went by Honor Level - I’d never see Fatfreddy, now would I?

Anyone have a team i can join?

Probably not cuz its harder to get into bg team than 3’s team lul. Even tho i pump harder i see backpedal jeff on a team, And thats why its going away. Ty blizz.

Go outside and touch grass.

Let me finish this Honor Level first (1878.)

And what this is likely to mean is that premade group rated BGs are still going to exist but they are going to be operating under the Blitz ruleset (8v8, mount speed, powerups, etc).

The 10v10 people are still not going to like that.

I read it as it’s going to replace the Rated Battleground slot in the rated window.

You will have like

  • Solo Shuffle
  • 2V2
  • 3V3
  • Blitz

I bet they remove 2v2 next.

I thought RBGs have already been dead for a long time anyways?

Seems like most players won’t even notice, especially casual PvPers

However, it was not creating community. Certain classes were left out, elitism and refusing people entry was the norm unless you were in a guild or a community that did not care what class you played, good luck finding that.

And that is the fault of Blizz ignoring that aspect. Not necessarily out of any elitism.
If an entire class is under represented it is on them to make the needed adjustments.
No one is going to bring a riding mower to the Indy 500.

It was not about creating an open community, but there is a community. More along the lines of a high school clique, however.

  1. a small group of people, with shared interests or other features in common, who spend time together and do not readily allow others to join them.

Well, then you reap what you sow.

Not all classes will be flavour of the month, and not all classes will be desired. With the new format it won’t matter, and for me that’s inclusive for everyone.

Both formats should exist, but of course, the more open, inclusive and accessible format is going to be far more popular than the format that is less inclusive.

I would not have a problem with that at all. However, Blizzard may have different ideas.

I think elitism is a part of it for quite a few, but not all.

In many cases it is just trying to increase your chances to win and if there are significant imbalances in how some specs perform relative to others then it is only natural that people aren’t going to want to handicap their team.

The main problem is that it is pretty much impossible to balance the game such that some specs aren’t going to be superior to other specs at satisfying certain roles. So, the exclusionary part of full premade rated BGs will always exist.

I didn’t sow a thing.
As I said, this is up to Blizzard to handle but they have all but ignored balancing in rbg’s since their inception.

Indeed. I am not playing my preferred spec these days.
But spec is one thing. At least one spec in each class should be able to be a valuable addition to an RBG team.

as a random side-note, rip to Flark and his streaming career… that dude’s entire thing was streaming RBGs with viewers

What will he do now? I suppose he could swap to arena carries, but bigger/more popular players (such as Pikaboo) already got that market cornered tbh

Personally i think i played blitz like 5 times. 10v10 coordinated is a million times better.
