100%. I’ve felt this since DF. It’s like this is World of Spreadsheets anymore.
I’ve never played fortnite… most likely never will… actually wow and a few steam games are the only ones I still play. I’m old now.
First thing first, what is your end goal?
Next, look at each currency vendor and see if there is anything you need, then want from from them. If not forget about the currency, you don’t need wax or a lot of the other ones that just offer cosmetics.
Now the upgrades are crazy and I don’t understand the conversion from one set of crest to the next. I do know you have to outgrow (ilvl) a set of crest to convert to the next tier of them.
As for gold and profession they feel like a dumpster fire to me. It just feels they are for AH sellers and not really for the person just trying to gear their character and alts.
When in doubt, go fishing.
Only if you’re trying to do everything in every game mode, which is not Blizz’s intent. You’re not meant to ever finish everything, because then you would run out of things. And you might leave to play some other company’s games. Blizz wants you to always have fun stuff to do in the Blizz family of games, so you never need to go elsewhere.
My end goal is to have a toon with bis in ever single slot with max enchants and gems and whatever else. Just wanna have a season with a toon that is totally and completely maxed. I would like to know what that feels like. It’s been a long, long time.
if end goal is that, then don’t worry about the storyline! Just spam Delves at +8, do Mythic +5s and finish the Raid AOTC!!
Lore is a complicated thing to learn in the warcraft universe, my recommendation here would be to check out a good YouTube video i found called the History of Azeroth
The (almost) Complete History of World of Warcraft (youtube.com)
meanwhile dont get caught up in your characters “story” as the story content of each thing you do revolves around the protagonist of whatever you are doing, AKA the quest givers. you are just another dude in azeroth helping the main character.
as for currency theres truthfully not a ton in this xpac atm. you have,
delve keys
valorstones
each type of upgrade crest one for each “tier” of item (adventure/veteran/champion/heroic/myth)
PVP currency
Resonance crystals (literally just meant to buy stuff from the rep guys)
and well, gold.
HMU on discord @avagantamos if you want some extra help dumbing things down or want to talk about lore.
then do all WQs that give Valorstones and do LFR raid every week as well
Isn’t there stuff from the story that you need for upgrading or no?
valorstones and the crests
Completely agree lol. thiis game is a corpse with a bunch of purple hairs trying to keep it together. No creativity or meaningful change in over 10 years.
Thank you very much you may hear from me.
story seems straight forward, you just lack basic comprehension
not much else to do during this Maintenace downtime… lol
Then why do they link every part of the game together. Can’t progress this unless you do that. Can’t progress that without currency from this. Can’t get the currency from this without doing that content over there. Can’t do that content over there unless you read the guide on WoWhead to figure it all out.
Like, imagine the flow chart for something like “How do I get my gear up to ilevel 600+”
The answer used to be an easy “Do content that drops iLevel 600+ gear”.
Then you can leave Delves and crafted gear alone once you can get into Mythic+. You can cut out most of the currency unless you are looking for profession items too. You will still need crest and the crystals because that is how upgrade gear. I would also say switch to gathering profession because those are money makers. You can also use crafting orders and supply your own mats with a nice tip.
As for the lore, just do the campaign quest. The other quests are mainly world building, so if you are overwhelmed you can drop them for now. You can always pick them up later or watch some videos on the lore.
This…perfect.
This i honestly the most enjoyable Xpac ive played in years. Tells you mostly everything you need to know. There is a lot of reading… So if you skip that i can assume it would be pretty confusing…
Getting ilvl has never been easier, solo delves, pvp is feeling fantastic.
Im loving it.
I dont get the lack of direction part though, cause this game almost tells you too much in some cases i find.
I am enjoying it. I guess it sounds like I’m not. I do appreciate the work that goes into making it. The art, music, gameplay itself, all fantastic. Which I think literally all of us agree on. So I guess I just don’t really see the need for all the stuff we have to do that isn’t really doing anything but making us run back and forth and stuff…all that extra “let’s drag this out as long as possible” stuff…I mean I’m still gonna play either way and I’m pretty sure most of us would too…so just, why all the extra work.
