Just...too much!

For those of us who did read it, you are absolutely right. Nothing means anything anymore.

I don’t think they are as linked as you seem to think. MANY players only do some of the content. A lot of those currencies are for toys and cosmetics and such from the zone where they’re found. Absolutely non-essential, unless you want something from there. You don’t need kej or radiant sparks at all if you don’t want toys from Hallowfall or Azj’Kahet.

To progress your character gear-wise, you want the actual gear and then some crests to upgrade it. You have multiple options for getting both; you don’t have to do all of them: raiding, dungeons, delves… Many (most?) of us mix and match those various instances for variety. There are a few pieces of gear available from rep faction quartermasters, but those are few and most of us already have better by the time we unlock them.

Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown
And things seem hard or tough
And people are stupid
Obnoxious or daft
And you feel that you’ve had
Quite enough

Just remember that you’re standing
On a planet that’s evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour
That’s orbiting at nineteen miles a second
So it’s reckoned
The sun that is the source of all our power

The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at four hundred thousand miles an hour
In the galaxy we call the Milky Way

Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars
It’s a hundred thousand light years side to side
It bulges in the middle, six thousand light years thick
But out by us, it’s just a thousand light years wide

We’re thirty thousand light years from galactic central point
We go 'round every two hundred million years
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, of the speed of light, you know
Twelve million miles a minute and that’s the fastest speed there is

So remember, when you’re feeling very small and insecure
How amazingly unlikely is your birth
And pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere out in space
'Cause it’s bugger all down here on Earth, er Azeroth

I skipped to this part and I am completely satisfied I missed nothing.

I always level 1 Horde and 1 Alliance toon first. I started on my Horde toon doing all the quests before leaving an area. On my Alliance toon, I just stuck to the main story line and delves. This is the character I have chosen to keep up with the main story with, so I stop losing track of the story.

I started 2 other toons, and I’m just doing World Quests, gathering, treasure chests and rares on them until they run out of rested XP.

The rest of the stuff is mostly grinding for rep, some for gear, but mostly for mogs/toys/mounts/recipes/achievements. That’s why I have held off on cinderfarming, because I can farm those bees for the mount anytime.

I love Hallowfall and the Light areas, but those can generally be done on Tuesday’s, along with the Theater (I’m not even sure why I love it so much. There’s only an achievement with it, but it’s fun!).

I need to spend more time with the spiders. I think I have emptied the Ringing Deeps of all treasures, except for the levers. I’m not sure I know enough people anymore that would help pull levers.

Yet you felt the need to let everyone know it. Lol…whatever makes the day go by I guess.

We’re all here waiting for reset, right?
Isn’t that why people come to forums?

The reset hasn’t happened yet? The game is still down?

I’m just here for the forums!

Yeah they said 9am pacific (where I am), but pushed it back now till 11am pacific.

I skipped to this part and I am comfortable with my decision.

I’ve found that the new AI tools like CoPilot and Perplexity can be very helpful with these issues. Yes you can dig answers out of WoWPedia and other sources but with the AI tools you simply ask your question and you usually get a good answer.

I’ve had some luck with ChatGPT as well but they seem to want you to keep getting advanced versions instead of just giving them to you. It’s just another thing you have to manage.

That chart is still pretty simple but if you look at everything it seems very confusing.

Are you looking at gear that drops at 600+ or gear that maxes at 600+?
Then the type of content you like to do to determine if you can get 600 anything from that.
If I don’t want the fairly straight forward raiding path that gives everything I need I will have to go a different way.
This means looking at Mythic+ and that upgrade system, which is still pretty simple. But I don’t like Mythic+.
This means looking at world content, now with Delves, and crafting. Which is the most complicated way to gear with the lowest ilvl cap. Mainly do to crest conversion.

Players make things more complicated because they want to gear fast/ efficiently and mix everything together. Left out vault and gear conversions because that is basically bonus gear. The design from those systems is to help poor rng, they are optional pretty much.

Very well said, but the OP is trolling at this point.

I played my main through to 80 before I came across an addon that assists with reading quest text (Dialogue UI). It was a game changer for getting me involved with the story lines for each individual faction when I re-leveled with an alt. Now I read everything. Some very good stories are being told. Agree with you on all the currencies.

have you tried watching a 20 minute you tube video to catch u up on the lore?

Actually it is 15 characters… I don’t have the time or inclination to see if they’re all the OP’s or not. My jaded side says it is with maybe a couple of other possible players clicking

But somehow it ended up being too long didn’t it?

It sounds to me like maybe MMOs just aren’t for you? If you look at WoW’s direct competitors like Final Fantasy XIV, those games do the same thing as well. Maybe the only thing FFXIV has up on WoW is that it’s mandatory to go through the MSQ to unlock absolutely anything relevant so if people aren’t skipping over cutscenes and dialogue all the time people more or less know what’s going on in the story. As for extra side content, every game has extra side content WoW isn’t unique in having multiple options for people to play the game how they want.
