Just remove warsong and ab from the game at this point

that’s 100% fair - may I ask though, and I may be opening a can of worms but I’m genuinely curious - Do you like fighting other players at all (i.e. WPVP)?
Are you ranking, if so why?

I enjoy coordinated Wpvp, not so much the “we bullied some low levels in STV/Hillsbrad” Wpvp.

I did get Glad on my old warrior in OG wrath, did some S2/S3 in TBC as well.

Currently not ranking in Era as I have zero time to even play games casually at this point in time, though I will be ranking once I reach that point.

CTF for me is just boring, I like it in FPS games somewhat but I just never enjoyed WSG. AB is fine but point defense style objectives are kind of boring, take forever to recap, etc. I would choose AB over WSG though if those were my only options.

I like TDM/DM games. AV gives me a large battlefield and feeling of ongoing conflict that WSG/AB don’t.

I’m mad we never got a Tower Defense map. How hard would it be to port Wintermaul?

We’re all entitled to play the game how we’d like to, and I’m glad that we have AV’s popping now as opposed to only warsong like we had 6 months ago – but I think its fair to say that the core community of vanilla PVPers since the release of vanilla wow consider WSG to be the pinnacle of competitive play, and AB to be a fun place to cut your teeth and chill out a bit more, where AV is really just a mishmash that can be fun, but is largely just a meme.

For a lot of serious pvpers WSG is WoW haha

What I think a lot of people are bummed out about is the fact that people are so disincentivized from playing anything but AV, and there are a number of relatively simple fixes for what feels like an oversight.

Yeah it’s just weird those serious pvpers aren’t queueing wsg right now because they would be the only people playing and they could have some serious pvp against other serious pvpers without just stomping pugs/bots/fresh toons all day. It’s like they only want to seriously pvp when they know they will be queued against people who don’t and they can just farm them for honor which can’t be true because they’re serious pvpers.

20 active subscriptions are required to fill a WSG, 80 for AV. Why shouldn’t Blizzard give the higher sub BG the better rewards? No one goes into Scholomance expecting to walk out with a Might of Menethil.

Don’t you tease me. Don’t you dare. Now I’m dreaming about tower defense BG and it’s all your fault.

Eh, I know it has more emphasis on personal responsibility and proper play but it still has a lot of bugs and basic imbalances that bring it down imo. Compared to AV I won’t disagree at all that WSG is where the more competitive players go in general.

CTF just isn’t for me and in the context of WoW it just doesn’t work for me personally as a BG focus. Not trying to say on is flatly better than the other overall, AV is just the most consistently fun BG for me.

I’d love one of those. There are some examples of the attempts they made at providing one but frankly they tried to reinvent the wheel and gave us some pretty shoddy BG’s because of it.

This for sure. I go Sweaty McSweatband in wsg unless my team is ignoring flag and farming mid.

I actually really enjoy defense at a flag in AB. Sometimes I get to 2v1 while I wait for reinforcements to arrive and it’s a blast, but it’s definitely a more chill BG.

AV… I’ll just keep my thoughts about it to myself, because I’m not trying to stir the pot. I’m sure some people love it, but I’d honestly be fine if it was a once a month event. I cannot stand it :joy:

I mean… I would love to queue wsg or ab. There’s 0 though. You can’t queue something that doesn’t exist. I’m pretty over AV in reality. I dislike it so much that I’ve decided to play wotlk classic again to random bg queue and see something other than snow and T3 warriors tanking NPCs.
I’ve just been raid logging and playing other games because of this drought. I’m actually dying to do some wsg on this Holy Paladin.

Sadly, AV is the best way for these people to afk/turn off their brain and get ranks so they can get gear to raid with. You think these people actually want to pvp when it’s AV 24/7? There’s so little pvp happening there it’s nauseating. They’re getting pvp ranks so they can get blue pvp gear and raid. AV isn’t real pvp imo.

Yeah but why is that aren’t all the real pvpers only interested in wsg and ab?

You can’t queue something that doesn’t exist.

There aren’t 20 real pvpers in the entire bg pool? That’s weird. Do you think they would start queueing if they nerfed av and the pugs all started to play wsg and ab? But wouldn’t that diminish the real pvp experience since a lot of the people queueing wouldn’t be real pvpers? That’s just so weird.

If you cannott find PvP in AV you are not trying to PvP. You are trying to stomp. You get a group of 5 and hold a choke vs 10-15 and have lots of fun. Or cap towers, or whatever. Yeah you might get rolled hitting 40 but then you rez and find an objective the opponent cares about.

You can also completely avoid it. But it is on you.

Sorry i always reply to a person (that’s not directed at you)

If it got Blizz to make AV more than a rush and require more thought and coordination I wouldn’t hate the idea of it being a once a month weekend thing.

I love AV, but it has it’s own clear flaws.

I’ll be honest… I have no idea. I’m strictly a solo queue guy. I don’t know why there’s 0 WSG/AB. I go to the battleground master, see 0 WSG and AB matches, suffer in misery through 2 or 3 AVs and log off. That’s about all the pvp I do on classic after the rank system change.

You’re good. I get it. But honestly, I agree to an extent. There’s occasionally a minute amount of pvp. realistically, it’s just seeing a scuffle; then you engage… and it’s just 6,000 spells being thrown from 40 different angles with 0 actual skill involved.

You can’t outplay/juke 4 mages, 3 warlocks, and 3 rogues just flailing around slamming every button on their keyboard. Trying to heal the front line of lvl 54 ret Paladin with a green weapon and a warrior with leather dual wielding daggers is only so fun for so long. That’s only when both sides aren’t ignoring each other zugging to the nth degree. It’s rare you get any “real” pvp I should have said.

You are correct though. But… if you enter a battleground and have to search to find any semblance of pvp; I feel it’s a huge problem with the literal fundamentals of the battleground itself.

weird you say this because the wsg games before the rank change were actually pretty good quality. even pug v pug. premades werent rampaging the qs because rankers were few and far between anyways

Now your presupposition fallacy cant apply because your claim was completely absent before the rank change, which you are now using for your appeal to emotion double logical fallacy. Youre easily dismissible and we can’t take you seriously because of your lack of base and lack of proof. I can easily conclude you are trying to spoof a reasoning in for no wsg games, but are having a hard time doing so - which is why you are asking “why dont they” for the last 40 comments youve posted. in other words:

Fishing for an answer that suits what you “feel”
Presupposition: warsongers arent queing because theres no pugs (proven wrong since before rank change)
appeal to emotion: “I think warsongers only q for this reason that i am imagining” (zero proof + emotional basis only)

I want to q wsg on my scholomance geared priest instead of my full bis shaman and all pvp loaded gear/trinekts/cons. Do i fit your narrative of farming pugs? on a priest with cold forged hammer and skull in my offhand?

People have pretty harsh criticism of WoW BGs but having tried some of the ones in other MMOs over the years they are all much better than the alternatives out there.

I didn’t make an argument nor did I reply to an argument so there’s no logical fallacy. It’s a common mistake amongst people who have no idea how logical fallacies work because they’re ignorant but want to sound smart. You might hear these people referred to as pseudo-intellectuals. Hope that helps!
