I don’t want to feel superior I want to feel good about doing something difficult and earning a reward I wanted. If the difficult to acquire item is gated behind difficulty that is fine, but to remove it entirely from existence due to it being exclusive seems unfun. Perhaps they didn’t want to have to balance yet another thing over the course of future expansions though.
This x1000 times.
it isn’t new content though - they would be doing the same content
Reopen the mage tower yes
but if you want to just be given the appearances no.
for boomers it might not, for new players it’s new Einstein :). Pretty imppresive that needs to be pointed
I am against it and I played and I never stepped foot in the mage tower because the content didn’t appeal to me so that is a huge assumption.
not very impressive just not to bother reading the entire conversation and then coming to the wrong conclusion - in fact you should be embarassed.
Zero. I had the riding turtle from the trading card game and the imp in a ball from the trading card game, and I sat here and watched Blizzard make my exclusive turtle a drop from a trash fishing mob in WoD, and then I witnessed them give away my imp in a ball to anyone who subbed for six months.
Exclusivity is nothing. It evaporates in an instant, and it never meant anything to begin with.
I have a lot of “exclusive” things, and there isn’t a single one of them that I wouldn’t support making available to players today. Sure, they might have to do something to get them or the mount might cost a lot of gold, but I am against anything ever becoming unobtainable.
You don’t think so? Where have you been lately? Achievements - getting something not everybody has is a big deal - the game is built around that feeling of achievements.
And it didn’t come at your expense - what expense did you have to pay again? Not having it now doesn’t mean it came at a price to you.
I apologize that you have no feelings for others and what they worked for.
You don’t even make sense - are you able to get the scarab lord? No. How does that prove your point when all they did was improve an extant mount. It’s for people that got it back then. How does that attenuate the idea of exclusive achievements?
What are you saying, they are able to make a recolour? Of course they CAN do it. But the question is SHOULD they - and I don’t think so.
but it being true does. think back to the start and how hard it was to get certain items in the game and the entire point of titles - that was all about exclusivity.
They used the model of the Scarab Lord mount and added it back into the game. That mount model was once lost forever.
I am saying they should add the models from the mage tower thing back into the game just like they did that mount.
Gotta be consistent right?
The better solution, rather than demanding they recycle something from the past, is to demand that they create new “exclusive” challenges that go away so we have new things to chase.
It would be awesome if they invested more time into new awesome transmog sets and whatnot rather than recycling trash over and over.
No… and they didn’t add it in - they updated the appearance. You’re not getting it if you weren’t around back in the day to gong the bell. So your argument isn’t making sense to me.
Did you not see my links?
This is a NEW MOUNT which uses the same model. It’s blue and not black. The black one is for the Scarab Lords, the blue one is for everyone else.
Bigspanky = Ralph?
The only MT appearance I could get behind a re-release would be the druid cat/bear forms as they’re sooo different. Not just weapon mogs, but entirely different forms. The rest though… no.
So you’re saying the whole idea of exclusivity is rendered moot because of a blue mount available through professions? I disagree.
Don’t get me wrong - more druid appearances available to new druids is a great thing - but not the mage tower appearances. I would even acede to a recolour of those appearances, but seriously, people worked for it let them enjoy it. I don’t agree with people devaluing other people’s efforts because some players missed out. Too bad, cry me a river.
Weird. I don’t feel anything at all when I get achievements.
Maybe it’s because I started playing before achievements existed and was already enjoying myself.
Good for you Shred, thanks for the contribution.
