Just Let Everyone Get The Mage Tower Appearances

I don’t agree that it would be beneficial in the long run to break good faith promises to players, quite the contrary, I think it would have a negative impact. If people’s exclusive achievements were rendered moot to satisfy a small group of players, I think that would kill the whole exclusive / prestige appeal many people chase and feel good about.

I don’t think stringing wrongs makes a right. And further to that, the alternatives here are easy to achieve and satisfy all, a new challenge and new forms. Is it the exact form, no, but it is fair.

No. Everyone playing during legion at that time had a chance.

Again. It is a video game that people play for fun. The appearances are cool things in the video game that people want. At the end of the day it causes no harm to the players to put in a means to get those appearances again.

It is just people not wanting others to be able to get the things they have. There is no player power associated with it. Nothing takes away the fun and stress and times you had getting them. You always have those. It just gives people the chance as some of the best Weapon mogs and druid forms in the game.

Your achievements are still your achievements because you overcame the challenge.

The point of contention is you firmly believe other people overcoming the challenge later at a different point in time takes away from your overcoming the challenge

Which is incoherent, and is a psychological impact of the game’s system design

and you should unlearn that

^Last point being relevant

Still waiting for your response to this too btw

I empathize and I think that’s why, if anything, they need to solidify those promises to us, not abandon them altogether. I don’t have a blood elf, but I completely empathize with how you feel about it. I don’t have gladiator mounts - but I empathize and defend those people that did earn them to preserve the prestige carried with it. Sure some of them don’t care either way, but I feel many do actually care.

Yeah, it does, to the people that listened to blizz, and did the MT instead of other things. You remove exclusivity from something, and you remove its value.

They had their chance, and they did other things instead of do the challenge. If I want the end raid mounts that go away with expansions, I raid or I don’t get. Blizz doesn’t reimpliment those either. Or glad mounts, or the many other things I have listed in this game that do not impact player power. You know why mog is more important than player power in the first place?

Whatever player power you gain, is removed each and every expansion. Sometimes in that expansion, though less likely. Those awesome mythic only gear sets you get, are replaced by quest greens or blues the next one. You know what isn’t replaced? The mog that was removed but you earned when you had the chance. ITs something that you earned that you can’t get anymore, and its proof you did it. If its treated like mounts you can just farm for expansions later, really its not valuable because no matter what eventually you get it just for afk running and spamming an aoe ability.

I’m saying forms that are visually distinctive, at a distance. The nightmare one isn’t, neither is the owlcat. They are all just skins, but only one skin offers a really impactful, different appearance and can actually be used today in combat.

Sure.

Like…what, for example?

How many new feral forms, usable in combat, have druids received outside of Legion?

I’ll wait.

But seriously, let’s get real here. This is nothing but spite. If you can’t enjoy what you have unless other people are prevented from having it, then that is an issue with you, at a personal level.

I answered you. you just don’t like the answer

I literally asked her a while, if she would like to have done the challenge and get it. She said no. There even made the part of the answer that answered it in bold for you to easily see there champ.

You’ve misunderstood me, I mean to say advocate for new challenges that award new forms.

KT forms
Zandalari forms

By the way to anyone who is arguing that bringing the MT into timewalking would undermine their hard work and skill that they showed by earning it during Legion here is something to consider. If the MT is added to timewalking it would arguably be even harder to do than it was in Legion. Because with timewalking you are constantly scaled, so you can never overgear it. They could also fix all of the cheesing done in the Imp Mother challenge. The only argument is that it would be harder now than in Legion, not easier. So I have no idea how you think completing a harder version of a challenge somehow undermines your achievement for doing it when it was easier.

ITs about the fact Blizz stated flat out, those rewards would go away. If you want people to have a new reward from the MT, I don’t think anyone would have a problem. Thing is, you don’t want it for the challenge, or because you want something new, you want something you could have gotten before and didn’t.

So your daughter would be one of the people who wouldn’t want to challenge themselves if it should become accessible, and would want to get a sparkle kitty.

Surely you realize other little girls would want to put in the work to get a sparkle kitty right?

And that your daughter is just one child to lands on the other side of the equation?

But curious that part of the ancedote mysterious was added after your original post.

Yes it should be proof you overcame the challenge.

When someone does a challenge should not matter.

We should be rooting for players who want to challenge themselves and do what we did.

That wasn’t what I asked though. I asked if she would be against it being brought back. Not if she would do it if it was.

Someone else doing the same challenge at a different period of time should not reduce your personal happiness or sense of achievement.

This would be like making Void Elves a timed exclusive, then telling people ‘well, just advocate for Blizzard to add some new races’.

Druids have been asking for new forms for decades now. Outside of Legion, they’ve received one appearance for feral, tied to a specific weapon in Firelands, that can no longer be used in combat.

It’s not going to happen, is what I’m saying.

Sigh, I was literally thinking ‘he’s going to say allied race forms, isn’t he?’.

You know that’s spurious, because it’s tied to an allied race - and in the case of Kul Tirans, a butt-ugly allied race.

Evidently she wasn’t, given she simply said she wouldn’t do it. Surely a child would recognize other people being able to get the sparkle kitty would be fun for them even if she doesn’t want to do it, right?

I am sure he is about to reply with another change in the anecdote.

It has no value to begin with. It is a appearance for your weapons or a druid form. You want to take this hard line stance that I dont understand. I have several of the MT appearances. For the classes I mained during legion. The only value they have, I sometimes I like to mog them. The time I spent getting them and the fun I had, is in no way affected by others having the same appearances. Then or Now.

Again anything you want to throw at the wall to see if it sticks like, a promise they cant break. Or too bad for the person I dont know and will never meet because they didnt play then. ANY reason. It just boils down to you not wanting others to have something which you have. Thats it. Argue away. But that root is still the same.

This.

This so much.

Rhay and co stand to lose nothing by making these forms earnable now.

The only objection here is spite. It’s Cartman, from that South Park episode, throwing a tantrum because Kyle got the same toy as him.

No, it’s hardly like that at all. A playable race and a skin are not the same things. You’ll need to ease up on the hyperbole if you want to really have a conversation here.

And they did go away. Did they ever say they would never be brought back? Feel free to post that link.

Except that I stated out of the 36 possible skins I have 28 of them, and I have no desire to get any of the remaining 8. But yes, I want things I could have gotten before but didn’t. You obviously don’t even fully read my posts.
