I wont be at all surprised if they do make that boofy bear look available, either exactly as it was in the MT or a slight colour variation. It would certainly reduce all these ‘bring back Mage Tower’ posts if nothing else…
They aren’t all that difficult to get, the diamond companies just have a monopoly on mining them in order to keep them valuable.

Oh man, I should start checking out the FF14 forums for all the crying about all of the limited promotional stuff FF14 has done and can no longer be obtained LOL. I bet it goes from no one, to everyone and their WoW’s mom, and I wont wonder why.

That wasn’t what they said actually. Though I can understand the message getting lost in all the active posters in this thread. He talked about how content often gets removed after every expansion and how it snowballs. That’s why he compared it to cancer.

Did… Did you REALLY just sit there and compare an expensive IRL item to something in game? Seriously? Especially considering you can go to almost ANY Jewelry store and buy stuff with it inside it?
Diamonds actually are one of the most common gem stones, they’re only valuable because the mines are owned by a trust that controls the flow out and artificially inflates the value

My gut feeling is the buzz for New World will last a couple of months. It doesnt seem to me to be all that spectacular and once its been explored, levelled through and tested out, people will move on.

Will they lose subs by adding it back?
Do they care since people can pad the subscriber count with tokens? Heck tokens make them more money I think they’d rather have folks use tokens.
That’s literally my POINT. If we just unleash the items, they become far less valuable and much less sought after.

Which is why a properly scaled version of those same instances seems perfectly reasonable.
I can flip that and ask you, do you really think it would bring that many players back, and keep them playing for the foreseeable future?

I don’t even have the appearance that I currently want, and I’m on the side of exclusivity.
They’ll lose credibility and will never be able to use time limited events as a way to keep people playing ever again.
You may not care about that but Blizz certainly does.
And I do have them and I think others should be allowed to have that same opportunity.
It’s not about me, it’s about the argument.
But you cannot seek out the items, nor trade them, or anything of the sort, so they have a null/non existent value outside saying ‘well I have it’ and being a snobby jaggof

Adding unique, hard, content back to the game that gives unique appearances for Weapons that are still pretty awesome looking? Hell yes I expect it to keep at least quite a few people going after it for a while.
