Just because they can’t get it I’d wager.
time sensitive items are a cash grab designed to make players fear missing out. It’s why whenever a battle pass model is added to a game I immediately quit I don’t support predatory practices like that meant to keep people playing simply from the fear of missing out. If you can’t create meaningful items without making them sensitive then is it really meaningful?
not really they had a lot of time restricted content right from the start - you are wanting something this game never provided.
Because it keeps people playing through content droughts.
Ok, so if I join the military today I should be able to get badges from WWII right? It doesn’t matter that I wasn’t there for it, exclusivity sucks right?!
The most simple Solution is just give the title for people who did during the current content, i don’t understand how hard was it to just keep a content around and make something else exclusive.
The concept is the cancer… that the deliberate removal of content to farm subs and activity during a small window of time is worth the consequence of lasting disappointment for players later on.
No one’s being flippant but you here. I’ve been nothing but civil, sipping coffee and presenting my points. If it’s that frustrating, take a break and come back.
I think it’d earn more good will than bad, personally. It doesn’t take much - if anything - from me and presents newbies and those that missed out with another avenue of content with worthy rewards to pursue.
No, but there’s plenty of stuff that has been removed aside from it, too.
(Maybe don’t make light of OCD, especially if you don’t get what it’s actually like. It’s counting steps everywhere you go, washing your hands frantically, and being obsessed with numbers. I doubt every person wanting access to legacy content is suffering from it.)
comparing serving an actual war to video games rofl.
Out of curiosity, how many of the people here demanding mage tower be returned (because they didn’t get the skin for what ever lazy reason) have even bothered doing Balance of Power?
You know, the appearance you had to work for too.
Going to be honest, that skin for several specs looks better or just as cool as the Mage Tower ones, and are still unlockable.
Alright then, how about this? I join a Hot Dog eating contest and win. I deserve whichever trophy with whichever year I want right? I did the content, doesn’t matter when I did it as long as I did, right?
No. Just, no.
I’d honestly be happy if there were recolors available. My biggest issue are the guardian/feral druid forms. Those things not being in the game anymore has to completely crush new druids or returning druids. Especially that bear form.
I just hate them removing content from the game. Especially when it’s not replaced by anything equal or better. Since the Mage Tower’s removal, we were promised things to fill its place during our outcry about it being removed. They never honored this.
As for recolors, I can go through and get a recolor of every MoP challenge mode armor set just by playing Legion.
So would making the game more friendly for Alts that way people don’t have to deal with constant daily/weekly hard caps on progress so they are more encouraged to try new things, seems to work pretty well for ff14 to be honest.
Hell, giving us more social things/places we could do would help too, like, I legit adored the Garrison system for what it was, but it could be better, why not add in a gold sink in the form of a player house that’s more free form with design/set up for players, yes, I know ff14 has this, and those housing plots are friggin fought over like no tomorrow when they become available.
The main point of an MMO is supposed to be that it’s a more social type of game, yet, the social aspects of it are constantly tossed to the back burner
It’s not really a competition so it’s still a bad comparison. Anyways the big difference in all of this is that time sensitive material in the gaming world is often to make people feel like they have to play. It’s pretty predatory actually which is my basis for disagreeing with it.
Oh and for the record plenty of people completed mage tower in 7.3, you know when it was a steamroll? So yea the same medal is being handed out regardless of year already.
oh people keep asking for that one - too
It’s overly dramatic. I’m sure new appearances will come along you can try for. Maybe next time you’ll get them and I won’t. You won’t find me here trying to diminish that for you or comparing my lack of said pixels to a serious disease that kills millions of real human beings a year.
I would prefer the better paying benefits from my job from 20 years ago instead of the ones today. I’m working now, so I can get those, right?
Exclusivity does have a value, but new exclusive cosmetics should be part of every xpac. This way new/returning players have a chance to get something neat and will also get to have something exclusive going forward.
I doubt blizz wants to dedicate the resources to this, but I think it’s a better solution. However, if blizz doesn’t want to go this route, then they should just make everything that was exclusive accessible. Exclusivity via laziness isn’t fun.
And I’d rather not play a game where content is arbitrarily cut because it’s used as a lure to keep people like yourself subbed. But here I am because of my Guild.
Then why do you even care? Why are you here complaining about not having it?
