The Artifact is gone.
The Legendary’s we used are gone.
Classes are completely different.
There’s no “scaling” stuff like the above.

Let people have a go at earning something new/similar or a variant of what was, but not the same, yes.
There you go.
This is like that time when you were 6, and you wanted ice-cream but your mom won’t let you. No matter how hard you scream and cry the answer is no.
So no, mage tower skins is exclusive and you can’t have it.
FOMO is a very powerful thing in human psychology and it works quite well. People like to be validated and exclusivity is one such way. You think hypebeast would be as popular without it? Heck no.
Exclusivity is nice and should remain.
Selfish is you demanding you need to have what others have…
I think they should take a page out of their own book and add some nice weapon transmogs to the shop. Perhaps base them off of the mage tower skins.
They can make them like the helmets and have them be time exclusive. Compared to other games there is very little in the shop.
That way everyone has access to them.
Yes, there is. It’s why you could still get the Proven titles after Mists and still have a challenge (not sure if that’s the case these days).
Disagree. Present your argument of why, if the challenge were renewed, newer folks shouldn’t have the opportunity.
Asks for point.
“Quit shaming me!”
Sure, but it also makes for one heck of a disappointment, too. I get I’m getting dogpiled here and that’s fine. But the point remains the same: There’s little prestige in when a challenge was done if that same challenge can be presented later.
They could also just add new recolored versions, which satisfies the exclusivity of the other ones, while giving new players a chance to get similar appearances.
I am on the same train as just let everyone have it. Just trying to find a good compromise
There is zero excuse for not having the Mage Tower appearances obtainable now. You could outgear the challenges and make them redundant, we even had exploits and bugs to make some of them easier. (Shadow Priest Burst, Agatha with outdoor buffs). Since you could outgear them players should be allowed to get them today. There is no prestige behind them. I’ve NEVER played bear Druid but got that appearance due to gear. Elemental Shaman was a face roll especially with the outdoor buffs. That shouldn’t ever be an excuse for these. If you have to give the people that did them when current a title, or do some sort of scaling and adjust the skills players have access too(All spells we have had in the past are still in the game they aren’t just deleted.)
You know what else was a challenge at the time and is still able to be gotten? The Warlock green fire, you can jump in today with current levels and gear and just destroy it and get your green fire.
It was a marketing ploy by Blizzard to retain subscribers at the time. It is literally the same as television ADs screaming at me “CALL NOW OR THIS OPPROTUNITY WILL BE MISSED FOREVER!!!”.
It wasn’t good “game design” it was a marketing tactic.
Admittedly this is a bit of a cursed wish granted suggestion, but how’s this for a compromise:
-MT stays gone
-Transmog on your character becomes visible only to you
So, right now I have the MT Outlaw fencer’s reach appearance, and I would see that, but if you see me running around or in a group, you see some random M+ mace and a korthia dagger. If you looked it up on armory, you would indeed see the transmog, but that’s it. As for feral and guardian skins, you would see your selected skin, and everyone else would see the default racial based on hair color/fur color.
That way, nobody gets triggered by seeing a werebear running around or someone with flails, or with mythic raid gear from previous tiers. Easy peasy, and blizz doesn’t have to spend resources re-scaling the mage tower (because slapping a TW formula on it will not cut it, especially for the tank challenge)
And even then, the title remains exclusive. That same method could have been adopted here if something absolutely had to remain exclusive.
False. Each of us bought World of WarCraft and its expansions. Each of us pays a monthly subscription fee. We already bought these exclusive items. We should be entitled to them. If there’s some stupid trick we have to do to unlock them, fine, that’s video games. But when we give our money to Blizzard, we do so with the expectation that we are buying access to every part of the game, including the items that Blizzard has made arbitrarily unobtainable.
Do they have to let us get them? Of course not. But when we are denied something we want, we get annoyed or angry, and eventually, we’ll gather up our debit cards and our checking accounts and toddle off in search of games that don’t attempt to cultivate artificial exclusivity.
The Mage Tower was built around the Specs in Legion, the Artifact in Legion and the Legendaries in Legion. Those are all gone.
No amount of scaling changes that.
No. They had their chance and didn’t take it. Those of us with appearances did. Doesn’t matter if it was hard, easy, or blah, it was a limited time thing and they missed out. Sucks, but that is life.
So you can play the pre Cata zones in the retail version of the game? That’s a neat trick.
Things change. Things go away. The game has always been like that.
You don’t buy access to those items by buying the game. Nice try though. No where is it stated or implied you can get those items, except when they were obtainable. Then it was very well known and marketed as a LIMITED time thing. You lose again. You get mad and angry and leave because you don’t get what you want, is literally the definition of selfish.
no, most players of those days quit my guy. Now there’s a lot of people that didnt had that chance. Are you actually using your full brain capacity to state what you just typed? imppresive
