As an Anarcho-Syndicalist, I’m used to being outvoted. But Democracy has never been my preferred method of effecting change, so it doesn’t matter much to me.

There will always be naysayers because they earned something tied to what translates to them as skill. It ties to that “when you see a level 60 paladin with full MC armor” or whatever. “oh they earned that skin, they’re a good healer!”
Like sure some of these were absolutely too easy, like the feral artifact quest.

But as someone who earned them when they were current (though on just my druid) I still believe that alternatives should be able to be earned. That has my vote.

They’re pointing out the opposite of what people are suggesting, such as players who have the appearances to leave.

Yeah, never understood the “exclusivity” argument, especially in the age of scaling.

Scale things up to make 'em just as - or even more difficult than before. As someone that got all the appearances I wanted, I see the prestige in completing the challenge, not when it was completed.

I didn’t advocate for someone to leave, and you can see who I was responding to - I said they are free to play those other games. Don’t stick words in my mouth. I was deliberate in the wording.

Maybe they get a feeling of camaraderie when they see others with the limited time thing? Maybe limited time events make the world feel more immersive? Maybe they like things being tied to a moment in time?

I could keep going, but to get to the point: Maybe it is not about you at all.

Is it the definition of “exclusivity” that’s stumping you? Because you mention both difficulty and time, neither of which have to do with exclusivity.

I don’t feel much comradery at all with folks coddling limited-time appearances close and wanting to prevent newer folks from getting 'em. It sucks to tell my newbie friends they simply can’t get something they covet anymore.

What are you even on about? I’m just saying your example is flawed. Several friends and I have gotten these appearances. You could easily outgear the challenges before the end of the patch. Scale 'em back up to make 'em tough again, let people have a go.
