There isn’t a single raid in WOW that says “yes, you killed the boss but you can’t advance to the next one because you didn’t kill it the right way.”
It might be “their rules” but usually “the rules” in gaming going all the way back to Kung Fu Master was "kill the boss, advance to the next level. That’s the way it’s been in every game I’ve ever played. If you want to add extra rewards for speed or what have you fine. But don’t lock me out of the next level. That’s just bad design and makes me stop playing Torgast.
This seems so unlikely. Not saying it didn’t happen, just that I’ve had slower runs without 100% completion that went 4 stars. It’s gotta be the bonus points obviously. What happened?
Grouping has been the best way to 5 star in my experience. In particular if you have a Tank to round up whole sections for the DPS to nuke down while empowered.
I’ve had runs with a Tank friend that I thought were pretty sloppy that we 5 starred. It’s all about getting the most out of Empowerment then picking which other Bonus’ to go for. The 500 Anima at the end of the run is an easy one usually.
Thought they said Torghast was meant for fun and craziness that you can’t do in the open world with crazy abilities and such, yet in order to get a higher score we’re forced to NOT take epic powers and forced to kill and destroy every single thing in sight which removes the uniqueness of stealth classes having stealth. It’s a terrible new system and I don’t know why people are defending it.
I have 4 starred often on Level 9. I’ve run it, I dunno, 5, 6 times. I’ve got several of the powers from the Box. Blessings, auto loot, whatever the first box of the second tier is.
I’ve never beat the timer.
But, here’s the big picture.
You need 4 stars to progress to Level 10.
There is no way I can do a Level 10 on my toon right now. I think the suggested iLevel is the high 226+, or even 230+. I’m 217. I have lots of opportunities to learn, play, and conquer Torghast before the 4 star “barrier” even becomes an issue (even though I’ve already surpassed it).
More stars is better for the Box currency. But starts don’t affect the Soul Cinders that you need for the legendary. You can get 1 star and get the full legendary currency.
Since I’ve basically decided that I’m going to get Cinders enough to make my ONE Legendary up to Tier 6 (whenever that may be) rather than push Torghast for whatever rewards I’m apparently not interested in.
At the moment, once I get the Cinders I need, I don’t have to go back. Until then, I’ll strive for higher scores just because it’s better for me to play that way.
