Just going by looks, would you rather play a San'layn or a Venthyr?

My apologies. I was not aware that you were a vampyre, m’lady.

Oh oops, well this character is in roleplay :stuck_out_tongue: But sorry I meant more of the lines as a fan of vampires is all. It’s the first card people pull and shove into my face, and argh… there’s so many other series that utilize nice-looking vampires that are super cool, like Hellsing Ultimate or if we’re going for live action, Dracula Untold (Yep I know many don’t like it but it’s one of my favorites).

But my all time favorite series right now is Castlevania on Netflix, which is a perfect example of wonderfully brutal and beautiful vampires at the same time.

Me trying to explain this:

I’m all out of hearts, but I understand. :blue_heart:

I to am a fan of fantasy lore, in particular Werewolves, Vampyres, Revenant, Ghosts, and Fae. The darker the better.

The Twlight series has set back vampyre lore for generations, I’m afraid. The current market is absolutely awash in sparkly things pretending to be vampyres.

I would say that my favourite take on vampyres would be from the World of Darkness RPG.

Ah Vampire the Masquerade? I really, really need to dip into that lore more, but from the brief bits I’ve gotten, the tip of the iceberg persay, I really enjoy it. My favorites are Toreador (Are you surprised) and Brujah, I’d say, though Gangrel I also enjoy too. I’m definitely going to play the new game coming out, and the clan trailers are gorgeous.

The Toreador are one of my favourites too, being able to mingle amoung mortals unawares using social charm and mesmerism to achieve your goals. The beast within barely contained, a slip here or there and the masquerade is revealed!

Tough and ‘earthy’ as it were. Brutal, efficient. Able to withstand punishment lesser undead would perish from, tapping into the power of beasts. Direct and to the point, I can see why they would appeal to you.

I am partial to the Sekhmet from the ‘new World of Darkness’ line. I love the classic archetype they embody of shadowy infiltrators and sages who obfuscate and pierce the veil in equal measure. Who have a susceptibility to fire and sunlight even greater than their kin.

Following the Sekhmet bloodline, I am fond of the Morbus. Those vampyre who are carriers of disease, who can only feast on the dying or infected. Ostracized by other vampyres, and barely tolerated by the Sekhmet themselves, they truly live in worlds apart.

Sorry, I get carried away with World of Darkness. One of my top five RPGs of all time!

Venthyr, they are the ones who most captured the vampire theme and idea as a whole, also, bonus points by being a standalone race, not just another one with a curse.

enough of g°ddamn elves already, we have enough for years by now.

Kael would not come back, and even if so, he would return as a normal dude, not as a vampire someway somehow leading a faction of evil undeads of northrend

because they are completely irrelevant, pointless and do not belong into the faction, used as just to give the alliance another villain instead of our normal groups

You literally go back on everything you’ve said against San’layn by your post right there. At least it’s so obvious now it isn’t even funny.

“CaNt JoIn HoRdE BeCaUsE ThEy DrInK ThE LiViNg!”

At this point it’s blatantly clear your only argument for this has been, the entire time, “I dislike elves and put down elf players and don’t want them, so let’s have Venthyr because they’re ugly.” Granted, I think most people see that anyway, but I like spelling it out for those in the back.

With that, /ignore, I think my point’s been made loud and clear.

San’layn. Because they’d likely have a racial that lets them drain blood from a victim.

San’layn should be playable, and have a racial where they will drain a target of it’s HP until the target dies, and spikes the corpse to a violently displayed skeleton asset! Just like how that gnome died in Vol’dun! We need San’layn to have a kill button! And to balance it, the cooldown has a 2 minute timer, and you need to waste an interrupt to break it!

San’layn racial: Blood Drink.
Cooldown: 2 minutes
Channeled: 11 seconds
Range: 50 yards
Effect: The user leaps to the target and drains 1100% of the target’s health over time. Cooldown is reduced if the target dies before the channeled effect concludes. Cooldown is reset if the target killed is a gnome or mechagnome!(Meaning if the enemy team has a gnome in PVP, you can drink the gnome dry, and insta-kill it! Optimal for PVP to kill entire teams of gnomes, and works as a hard counter for mecha-gnomes!)

So you want to introduce a race that has a 1 second kill button on a 2 minute timer.

The effect will make a San’layn leap to the target, grab it and stun it for 11 seconds, and drain the target’s HP over time. The cooldown is ticking depending on how full you are.

Maybe a rework… A blodd drink buff or debuff saying “Blood gorged”, and it limits your cooldown, maybe 20 seconds per stack, with a 10 stack. 220 seconds would be a bit long, OR it could mean you can’t drink from another victim as long as the debuff exists. The debuff wouldn’t exist if you drink from a gnome.

If you’re draining 1100% of the target’s health channeled over 11 seconds, and they’re stunned, that is an instant 1 shot mechanic. 1 second of it and you’re dead. It is far too powerful to be introduced.

MORTIS!!!

Yay! Welcome back. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

You misread. The entire effect is 110% of the target’s health. Basically 10% per second. Perhaps it’s because I was unclear.

Basically, you have 11 seconds, 5 if you let your friend get caught wounded…

The insta-kill mechanic would be a hard counter for how broken OP Blizz made mechagnome racials.

You misread. The entire effect is 110% of the target’s health.

Channeled: 11 seconds-The user leaps to the target and drains 1100% of the target’s health over time

neither considering both would be for the red side.

Okay, went back and saw I made a typo. Sorry about that, thanks for clearing it up.

but still, it’d be an instant-kill on gnomes and mechagnomes. We need some racials that insta-kill gnomes to balance it out.

I’d prefer San’layn.

San’layn. Definitely San’layn. I wish they hadn’t made Ven’thyr ugly for no reason considering how cool they look in the concept art.

Venthyr are not show in the game as a group of evil undead monstrosities, yet, if they are, i will be against then and you can quote me on that

you are living to hard in your delusion, why are you even quoting me again? are you going to craw in your thread and badmouth me again?

and its blatantly obvious that you just want a pretty edgelord race of elves, you don’t rly want vampires, you want the teenager version of then

Can we just reinvent the wheel here and have human vampires or something, how many elf races do we really need.
