If you were going to play one of WoW’s vampire elves would you rather play a San’layn or a Venthyr? Pros and cons (in my opinion):
San’layn
Pro:
They look awesome.
Con:
Another blood elf reskin.
Venthyr
Pro:
… T-tall? I guess?
Con: Ugly, like a night elf boinked a Nosferatu. (Night elf reskins don’t tend to look very good (speaking from experience)).
So, yeah, if I had the chance I’d rather play a San’layn. Heck, I’d much rather play a Stoneborn than a Venthyr. But, which would you play, if you wanted to play either one. There’s no wrong answers! Unless you say Venthyr

San’layn, for sure.
The Venthyr are cool and all, but they belong in the Shadowlands and should stay there. We shouldn’t want the people who manage the afterlife to leave the afterlife unattended and come to our world to solve our problems.
The San’layn on the other hand seem to be basically the mortal world’s reflection of the Venthyr (the Scourge was seriously into creating Shadowlands people knock-offs). If we are to get a vampire race, it should be our vampires.
That said, if I was the Dev Team I would simply make it so that you can unlock Vampire customization for any race by joining the Venthyr covenant. That way we can play as any of the various kinds of vampires we’ve seen around: San’layn, Vampirates, Gnomeferatu, etc.

San’layn, because if the stars align just right we might get Kael back.
Also Blood Elves won’t have to share their blood magic or get it stolen by a group of people that have no connection to them.

They can do their job in our world though. Venthyr can guide people away from the Maw while they’re still alive. Kyrian can signal soulcarriers whenever they kill something and evaluate its soul. A Sylvar can just do its “defend nature” thing. And a Necrolord can defend the Shadowlands by working with their closest ally, Azeroth.

Venthyr. I’m a fan of that more classic vampire look that venthyr have. Human-like, but with a horror vibe. I don’t know how to describe it, but you know what they look like. I prefer that style.
San’layn are just too elvish for me, since they are elves. Which we have more than enough of already. Venthyr are more unique and interesting. I don’t really expect either to be playable though.

San’layn, you can tell when something was good looking in concept and changed to be ugly for no good reason, and that’s venthyr.
edit: After a quick search just to make sure, I was actually right.
What a weird and specific shame.

San’layn, for sure. Venthyr look disgusting. They look like a weird mix of troll and orc.

San’layn. Venthyr look weird to me. Like someone stuck a playdough formed head on a Nightborne body. I can’t work past it.

San’layn are boring, just like LF Draenei are boring. Ask for the belf CC options and use the allied race slot for something cool.

If they were too beautiful, if they do end up becoming an allied race the Alliance would be too jealous. By making them more monstrous they fit better with the Horde vibe. The player-base is already tipping towards Horde and giving them sexy vampires would be the straw that breaks the camels back I imagine.
