Because Anduin is a twit who constantly forgives everyone. If Guldan said he was sorry for atomizing Varian he probably would have pulled the alliance back and let the legion run over the world.

Pretty much. I mean, it’s why Horde players wanted a choice to jump off the Sylvie wagon in the first place.
It’s German for I just carried out orders basically the only excuse the horde ever has and they use it a lot.
but thats part of my point we were given a choice to side with her or not for a reason. she was the evil, not the horde itself
its a legitimate excuse. its why plenty of people from world war 2 were pardoned and not excuted or imprisoned for slaughtering entire towns and torturing people.
they were following order they had to follow or they died themselves.

and like sylvanus gave bain the choice of helping his people or joining sourfang to be captured by the alliance. bain chose to help his people, but he didnt choose to follow sylvanus, he chose to help his people which is entirely different. he was given no choice.
thats why the horde ityself is not evil, jujst because your leader is evil and you are forced to follow them does not make you evil. the moment the horde got a chance to overthrow garosh they did, the moment they got a chance to stop following sylvanus they did
No those who were pardoned were those that were of use (Von Braun). There was an operation called operation paperclip that is a real thing and was part of how we got to the moon as quickly as we did as well as many other advances. The camp guards though those folks didn’t get away anything because they were grunts and not of use to the allied forces. Following orders wasn’t an excuse for them because they weren’t useful.
Weeeell, what about all the people who sided with her? There’s plenty of NPCs who happily committed atrocities “for honour”.

I do not know the English word, but, during the Nuremberg trials, the “Befehlsnotstand” (I was just following orders) was largely classified as not valid. Only in cases where the orders were in line with the Geneva convention and then current law of war were people let off the hook.
If they were “useful”, they usually weren’t even tried in court. They just skipped that for a bunch of necessary bureaucrats.

yes but canonically many more sided against sylvanus then there have been who sided with her, even the “loyalists” canonically are a small group, and the majority wanted to stop her from doing somthing that was clearly a bad decision.
