Join a guild, seriously

Even weirder: those complaining who already ARE in a guild. They’re basically saying “My guild sucks” without them knowing it.

I would image it would be condescending and/or irritating to hear for those who are not able to do the same, maybe. /shrug

For some reason when we talk about what others should do because we’ve done the same they don’t stop to consider if the other person they are talking to are actually able to do the same thing. People come in lots of shapes and sizes (and cultures and damage and …).

Big true, I’ve accepted that being uncarryable is just part of my heritage.

So…you’re triggered, I guess?

If you don’t have the ability or motivation to go to college, there are countless job training programs out there as well.

You can also do what i did and join a good Union and get paid to train, with a huge pay bump after your apprenticeship is done.

Skilled blue collar jobs are hurting for people who can even pass a drug test and show up for work.

If there aren’t any of these opportunities near you, then you need to be willing to pack up and move, even if it means sleeping in your vehicle until you get some income going.

there were literally millions of illegals pouring into the country over the last few years who had no issues going halfway around the world for an opportunity, so anyone already living here has zero excuses.

Or maybe they play at different times? I do a lot of M+ and such during the day, a lot of guilds do them at night. Even having a guild doesn’t mean you can do stuff with them. I raid with them at night, but other nights I am raiding in another guild at night so I do Delves/M+/other things during the day. But yes I am thankful I am not pugging a raid right now lol

Because it’s a non sequitur that has no meaning other than to e.g. tell poor people to “not be poor”. It’s a bad argument that completely fails to account for the myriad of nuances that exist in reality.

Yep, you won’t usually fall into a good community, You have to look to find it, but it really is worth it.

There are some pretty good discord communities out there too, good place to look for guilds and for groups.

I’d have to leave my basically inactive one. Though there’s little point, I havn’t played with anyone in an organised fashion since wrath and life’s been fine so far. I could recruit but theres only me and maybe four others that have logged in with the last 6 months, most haven’t in over a year.

That might be the thing that holds people back the most.

Leave bad guilds, sooner the better.

A good guild isn’t gonna drag you right into taking on important responsibilities. A good guild is probably not new. either.

Do you always assume the worst in people when you reply?

Not only am I not triggered, I hardly care, and was just making conversation. I was even trying to signal nonchalance by using the /shrug emote.

All I was trying to say is that some people are more capable than others, so when you give someone the equivalent of “just get your feces together” they may find that offensive, answering your question.

No it’s not. It means that “even at your lowest, you can’t just lie there waiting for others to pick you up. You have to pick yourself up despite the difficulty of doing so”.

Exactly the way “just make more money” is the best solution to being poor.

And not everybody can do that. Do you understand that?

Only if you’re crippled physically or mentally to an extent that prohibit you from doing so, in which case you would at least qualify for government benefits.

When I was young, I worked for a few months at a telemarketing job and we had 400+ pound women who could barely make it in to their chairs, but they still did it for 8 hours a day and earned an income instead of just waiting for handouts.

I’ve known people who have major mobility problems and can still work from home doing customer service.

If you’re able to log on to these forums or play a video game, your marketable skillset is not nearly as limited as you would like to believe.

The funniest thing about this post is the degree of charisma-based red-tape-cutting you have to do, to get those benefits. Even if you qualify.

People who aren’t social butterflies literally do not exist to you.

By the fifth guild that guilted me into being a “farming member” I was done.

No, I just don’t fall for the self-pity circle **** that is a large segment of modern American culture.

Yes, exactly. So just saying that to someone with physical/mental issues is just offensive to them, like they would have never thought about that themselves beforehand.

And you’re wrong to try and filter so tightly so that only the extemes don’t fit your paradigm, there’s plenty of people who walk through life damaged and unable to just help themselves, and unfortunately can’t/don’t seek help.

Life is not as black/white as you have convinced yourself it is.

That’s just insulting it’s like you weren’t even a person to them.

I never said it was black and white, but you and others like you sure like to pretend it is.

Your kind thinks that you either are well off or a victim. There is a massive range in between where you can find a place for yourself.

The first step is conquering your own ego.

Saying you cannot play for the NBA is not self-pity. It’s just true. being a social butterfly is a skillset not everyone has.

Yep, and that place is delves.
