Don’t be hard on Zerde his just passionate about his Alliance and the events that has happend.
I have a few friends like him… They very passionate and defencive about Alliance … However I think those friends, take it a bit further than Zerde, because they dislike the idea with a passion that the Alliance could ever be corrupted or evil or have any complicated plots that puts it not as the “good guys” of the story. Unlike my other Alliance friends who are just Zealots and waiting for a righteous excuse to destroy what remains of the Horde even at the cost of staining the Alliance image! They will argue with you endlessly about it…
LMAO I laugh just remembering it, when they are together in the same Voice Chat… they argue worst than if they in different faction, its hilarious…seeing both type of Alliance players arguing ABOUT the Alliance stuff and how they want it to be…
I just miss the old alliance that had some grey to it is all. And was a little rough around the edges while having characters willing to terrible things for what they consider the right reasons.
Admiral Rodgers is a perfect example of a character like that. But it’s been years since we’ve had someone like that on the roster
I get that there are people who enjoy the currently santized and whitewashed alliance, but it’s boring as hell frankly. And I know others who feel that way too
How were they supposed to know the giant hills ringed with vines were deadlier than just running them back towards Mulgore?! Clearly the guy using literal hardened convicts and openly murderous dwarves against civilians had nothing but the best of intentions.
Its not like they’ve lived in the area for years or had Quillboar issues back in KT or anything…
Its just not that they’re whitewashed, its that they did such a bad job of it as well.
“oh they’re good again” is so lame, people whine about Horde characters not getting punished, but basically everyone of note actually went against their warmongers once or twice when given the chance.
I honestly expect their path forward will be to also sanitize the Horde, so everyone is the best of buddies. With a few kinda corny moments like we got in TWW.
They did nothing to undermine Dalaran’s fictional neutrality. Or steal the bell. Or anything else. If they had lived the same lives, but been human, they would have been left alone.
Members of the Sunreaver did help with stealing the bell. This is already canon.
Then they have to purge all races because the Cult of the Damn has member from all the races. And unlike the Sunreavers we knew who they were. If we knew anyone who subscribed the Cult of Damned you would bet they would be kill on sight.
It is also canon that they weren’t the people purged. Jaina didn’t even know who they were. Instead she lashed out based on the concept of racial guilt.
The people purged were innocents. Attempts at guilt by association won 't change that. If they had been human, all those shop keepers would have been left along.
I’m aware you are in misdirect mode, but you have to face the facts.
The people purged were in the same organization who did steal the bell. Maybe if Aethas has done his job and actually tried to vet his organization they wouldnt have been implicated in all of this. As it was Jaina could not have know who was or wasnt a traitor and considering how dangerous Dalaran’s many other artrifacts were I could understand why she would not want an organization that was still nominally loyal to the organization headed by Garrosh anywhere in Dalaran.
On this note, I dont think Lothermar ever did anything to the Sunreavers who did side with Garrosh.
Except we already have confirmation that innocent blood elven families were forced to evacuate Dalaran, not just those directly responsible for the Bell’s theft.
Thalen Songweaver certainly feared that he would.
He glanced back fondly at his lavish quarters. He suspected that soon
wisdom would dictate that he vacate them. Theron had been too busy
overthrowing the rightfully appointed warchief to bother with a lone
archmage, but once they had all decided what to do about Garrosh, no doubt
the sin’dorei leader would recall that little incident in Theramore, and elves
like Songweaver—elves actually loyal to the Horde, imagine such a thing!—
would become persona non grata. Who knew—if Theron kept cozying up to
the Alliance, he might even call for executions
Skip investigation, go straight to purging and mass murder while unleashing your personal hate group on innocent shopkeepers who had nothing to do with it
…because Lor’themar, as with all the other leaders were too busy dealing with Garrosh’s trial? The reason why he didn’t is quite literally in the passage. There’s no evidence to suggest Lor’themar wouldn’t take care of Thalen.
