Jaina Proudmoore committed unspeakable acts against blood elves,m

Too bad that’s what happened anyway. The Silver Convenant murdered innocent shopkeepers

Don’t forget those fireballs that you claimed were friendly that Jaina was eagerly throwing at any blood elf in her way

That was his fear. We dont know if Lothermar would or would not have done anything and there is nothing suggesting anything happened to the other Sunreavers who did help Garrosh.

But there was no evidence of another happening.
Investigating isn’t waiting.

Yes, we do. He already signed up to the Darkspear Rebellion without problem and had already began to despise Garrosh, we have all the reason to suspect that Lor’themar would have punished those that helped Garrosh.

Find me lore that he actually did punish them. Otherwise this is just your headcanon.

Find me lore that Lor’themar would have let them walk free. Otherwise this is just your headcanon.

Lor’themar was a very busy man for all of WoD, its nice that he got a break and a wife since then before getting thrown back into the fire next expansion

Thaelen was in his city. Yes he fear Lotharmar might do something but there is nothing confirming this and it was just his fear.

Stuff like this argument are why I’m glad we have a unified questline and narratives in expacs now. Because the story told of the MoP Dalaran stuff makes no sense from the two perspectives.

On Alliance side the story has Jaina explicitly go ‘don’t kill anyone unless they attack you. I wont sink to the Horde’s level, i just wont have them in my city’. This is still presented negatively, as she is kicking people from their home and livelihoods and pushing them back to the Horde owned lands, not letting them live in the one place where Blood Elves aren’t required to be politically Horde.

Meanwhile on the Horde side the story frames it as a one sided massacre where she is killing every and all blood elves in the city, and has completely lost her mind. It is a story of vicious bloodshed and revenge against reason, where the actions of a couple dozen traitors gets hundred killed.

Chronicles tried to combine these two stories by saying that Jaina only arrested people and killed no one, but that the prison warden she picked was a brutal racist who basically allowed people to die under her watch, with no oversight given by Jaina as she was busy with the Isle of Thunder at the time. So many many innocents still died, but not directly from Jaina nuking them with fireballs.

But its a dumb combo and having the narratives conflict so openly was a rrally dumb decision by Blizzard.

This shows up to lesser extents in other expacs as well. In WoD every single piece of story paints the orcs as single mindedly the aggressors for every single conflict vetween them and Draenei. Attacking as soon as they landed and trying to enslave them until they fought back with their full force.

Even Orcs themselves blame them for their aggression and stuff.

Meanwhile Horde side the WoD storyline talked about the Draenei’s aggressions, how they landed and started demanding conversions, how they basically tried colonizing the orcs, etc. None of which appears anywhere on Alliance side.

This split of storylines just lead to so many dumb inconsistencies.

Lor’themar Theron says: And get this damn thing out of my sight! Hellscream bought this treasure with the blood of my people. I hope it destroys him.

Baine says Lor’themar ain’t too happy neither. He and I got to have a talk. Soon as I can travel again…

Lor’themar was NOT fond of Garrosh Hellscream or his policies, from the word ‘go’ he’s never been fond of open war towards the Alliance. The only reason why Lor’themar didn’t punish Thalen Songweaver was because he, like every other leader at the time was busy dealing with Garrosh’s trial.

You say this but the second one member of either faction steps a foot out of line we’re going to go back to the same old arguments.

Imo the ideal would be split, Half faction quests where you get your faction’s various characters take on the situation, and half neutral, with the neutral ones being the more important ones.

He may not have been fond of Garrosh. That doesnt mean he was suddenly going to punish his own people for potentially siding with a warchief he himself helped bomb Theramore.

Heck, he was actually one of the only faction leader that didnt challenge Garrosh when he decided to attack Theramore.

Oh its already happening. On horde side during the training the new recruits quest, Turalyon goes ‘another filthy member of the horde.’ Meanwhile on Alliance side its instead that maghar girl whose name i genuinely cannot remember who goes ‘Great, another disgusting member of the alliance’.

But these are at least tiny little details, not massive retcons that cannot coexist.

Lor’themar didn’t help Garrosh bomb Theramore, that was Thalen Songweaver who made the bomb to begin with, clearly without Lor’themar’s approval considering Thalen specifically recalls Theramore. Lor’themar is not a biased leader, he wouldn’t hesitate in punishing his own people if they had done wrong.

Lor’themar has never been loyal to Garrosh, he’s always been loyal to the Horde., who supported his people when no one else would.

“The Horde embraced and supported my people when no one else would,”
Lor’themar replied. “I will not forget that. And so, my loyalty, and that of my
people, is to the Horde."

Unease stirred in Garrosh as he noticed a slight emphasis on Lor’themar’s
last word. “I am the Horde’s warchief, Lor’themar. And as such, I am the
Horde."

“You are its warchief,” Lor’themar said, agreeing readily. “Is that all you
wish of me? My people are anxious to return home and prepare for the war
that is to come.”
“Of course,” Garrosh said. “You may go.”
Lor’themar had said nothing inflammatory, but the unease did not dissipate
as Garrosh regarded the sea of red and gold move toward the gates of
Orgrimmar.
“That one is worth watching,” he said to Malkorok.
“They are all worth watching,” the Blackrock orc replied

Lor’themar was in talks to potentially rejoin the Alliance at the time of the bombing, the idea that he would go to the mat for Garrosh is dumb.

This too. There’s no evidence to suggest or suspect that Lor’themar would go up to bat for either Garrosh, or his followers no matter where they came from.

When Garrosh was talking about invading Theramore, Lothermar was one of the few leaders who was either tacitly supporting it or at least not trying to dissuade Garrosh from the action, which is all the more funnier considering Sylvanas was the one that didnt want war. Yes he was loyal to the Horde, and at that point Garrosh was leader of it.

More specifically, those who didn’t seem to care if helping Garrosh would harm their own people and homeland. That’s a fair bit more serious than just being someone who helped Garrosh.

The guy was explicitly betraying Dalaran and keeping it a secret from his own government despite the risk of exposure implicating Silvermoon and its people. He was basically an in-universe avatar for those blood elf players who are"Horde First" and would gladly help burn Silvermoon to the ground if the Warchief said it would help the Horde defeat the Alliance.

So wouldn’t that make it more important to make sure you’re getting the actual people responsible and not just going with your gut feeling because you found a Dalaran portal at the scene? (just played that towards the tail end of remix, that’s all Jaina calls it)

Imagine seriously saying Well…it felt right at the time. Some people just don’t understand that it’s OKAY for a character to be wrong and have actual flaws in a story. Not every character has to be the pinnacle of moral upbringing, it creates a stale story after a while
