Jaina Proudmoore committed unspeakable acts against blood elves,m

Current tradition holds that Jaina is only to blame for driving the blood elves out of Dalaran.

Yes, if we take Chronicle as trumps-all canon then no one was imprisoned, Jaina’s order never deviated from “exile,” Rommath, Vereesa, and even Aethas played no noteworthy role in the affair, and the Sunreavers weren’t quashed and detained as PoWs, but commanded by Lor’themar to peacefully leave the city. Absolutely none of which is corroborated by the game, of course, but what do you expect.

Inventing is up to you. I’m just saying what recent tradition has pointed out to us.

It is, in fact, what Chronicles says is explicitly contradicted by existing quests. A new “feature” of the Chronicles, of which this is not the only example. (And, in fact, reaches the point contradicting itself.)

Though it doesn’t make it “not ethnic cleansing”. I think Blizzard ran up against the wall that you can’t “purge” a group without it being ethnic cleansing.

It is, in fact, a clear retcon. Which is, of course, an explicit way of letting Jaina skate. The interesting fact is that it is also an admission that what she did was bad enough they felt they had to retcon it.

Guys, just give up they doing nothing about Jaina at this point… if anything she will be probably retired by Xal or some big neutral bad. That character from her power to the way she has been written if basically untouchable both in power in the lore and in the writers room apparently.

I did love how Xal casually throws Alleria’s bow with a simple wave of her hand… like: “Girl, please… no heroics today”

Hope Xal brings that energy when she faces Jaina, not sure how Jaina can top Khadgar Kamehameha but I’m sure she will… maybe writers will try to make it more equal to Xal even though Ice is like nothing to a creature of the Void one would think, but I be interested to see how they write that scene to play out. In my mind I see the scene as “The unstoppable Force Xal vs the un-movable object Jaina”.

Joking and teasing to the side… as bad as this maybe to the writing or story for many at this point I rather Jaina be a Dreadlord… so we can put the Purge, Zandalari Troll and Blood Elf emity to rest. Anyone bring the subject again it be: “Oh yeah the Purge, Zandalari Capital Invasion… it was a Dreadlord Jaina” (IMO)

It’s been literal YEARS of this. Chronicles just made it worsts by not addressing it… and basically Panda Remix open the old bigotry and bias emities in the Old Faction Wars history again. (IMO)

That way Alliance can stay heroic and pure and in the right forever… and the Horde can keep being told how bad they are for the next 5 years… also maybe killing what’s left of their Leadership.

Ok, I’ll stop… I’m just teasing at this point… I can’t help it. I however do suspect something is going to happen and I will leave it at that. :face_in_clouds:

The writers decree that it must be so.

Sounds better, actually. Retcons are annoying but if you’re retconning things that don’t work or make sense, you’re losing nothing.

Because they killed off all the interesting Horde character so now we have to quest with Alliance characters and Thrall. Maybe Baine will make an appearance later on, but we will probably be forced to save him with the help of the Alliance.

This is my one and only real gripe with the story. Well… this and the fact that Horde characters have been utterly passed over for major story roles, but that’s just how Blizzard roles.

Jaina killed King Rastakhan in cold blood and the story would like for my Zandalari Ret Paladin to forget that this happened. Yeah. Uh huh. No.

Can we not? I would love more hordies existing in the plot, but not that one. ANYONE but Mr. ‘well the alliance just burnt down a city, better go apologize to them for some of our people wanting to retaliate’

He can sit and rot in Oribos for the rest of time. What an idiotic character.

He had soo much potential as a character too. Like he was legit pretty cool at the end of the tauren starting zone. Blizz decided to turn him into a joke character for some reason

In addition to the purge, she also tried to drown every citizen of Orgrimmar. Men, women, children, babies, dogs, cats, everything! She even stole the artifact and a book from the Dalaran library to do it. At the very least her library card should have been confiscated, but it wasn’t. She was also instrumental in the murder of King Rastakhan. No consequences.

She is no angel.

she was outright enjoying the idea of killing innocent children

no wonder she’s Zerde’s favorite

Jaina was suffering from the “crazy hysterical women” trope at the time. Which is… unfortunate, to say the least.

Hard Agree on Baine, like everyone I know personally irl who I constantly chat and play with (when our schedules aline, which lately it’s been rare) could care less if that character is written off…

And that’s kind of bad because Horde LITERALLY can’t lose any more leaders… and the character has been written to a wall, were IMO it be easier if he was a traitor or Dreadlord then put him as peace loving.

Maybe this is why the neutrality and the union of factions or maybe we lose him and Mayla takes the Leadership of both her people and the normal Tauren. :person_shrugging:

In fact I can see that with so many loses ends, I think Sylvanas is where she needs to be, so she can solve forsaken problem of reproduction, she probably while in the Maw must have made bargains with Venari or Brokers and may have gather favors from the Covenants she having connections with Keal’thas now that she is whole and probably back at being loyal to Silver Moon and being committed to the Forsaken issues as a former leader! When she comes back she is ready to turn Forsaken home it to a proper Necropolis and legalize being undead if so the living choses with the help of SL.

Yes, I can see it now… lol I’m joking and took the idea I was discussing with a friend while joking on possible stories Blizz could dare to take!

Yeh, she was insane, but again, almost did is not the same as doing.

And with Dazar’alor, again, it was war, not pretty, but it was war.

Probably not since we have no reason to think that.

Yeh, but for some reason I take it personally in that raid because she kept trying to freeze me where I stood… and I loved Rastakan’s character.

I am no fan the Alliance going genocidal I mean if that is all I wanted than the internment camp would probably something I would consider the worse idea of the Alliance.

That being said, if anyone is to blame for her going all crazy, it would be the Horde’s fault for dropping a mana bomb on her and actually committing genocide. And unlike the Horde she eventually manage to not fully jump off that cliff so there is that for why she doesnt get punish and the Horde does.

The mana bomb wasn’t genocide. Theramore was a military outpost conducting raids on the Tauren. It was a legitimate military target. Drowning a densely populated civilian capitol city doesn’t compare.

The mana bomb was considered a genocide as mentioned in Warcrimes.
