Why would it be? It’s entry level, trivial content designed to get you acquainted with end game systems and geared up to begin doing endgame content.
Matchmaking has never been endgame in WoW. It shouldn’t be. The higher levels of gear all come exclusively from content that isn’t within the matchmaking system.
To be completely honest, they’d be doing the game and players a service if they deleted LFR and LFG and we went back to doing everything the old school way.
Those of us that still are doing it the old school way are gleaning the best rewards. Matchmaking has never for a single moment fit into WoW other than random battle grounds.
It seems that someone who has told me they were raiding before I was born and opines for the “good old days” of WoW would understand this.
Of course you aren’t. The mechanics and difficulty in matchmaking content are not representative of anything higher than M0 (which is where endgame starts)
You can’t on the one hand wish that WoW was as good as it used to be and then on the other ignore entirely the systems that made it what it used be that are still right here.
todays audience of mmo players are the reason. Then they design the game around them. Back in the day of vanilla, when the game was best, we played like this all the time. People would take their time and enjoy the journey for the most part.
lol people didn’t know any better back then. The endgame crowd still existed, exactly like they do today.
Most players simply weren’t aware of it because WoW was so new. You will never replicate the feelings the game gave you 20 years ago because the game is 20 years old.
yep…I havent seen a single trash vote kick in a single follower dungeon.
I havent seen the tank over pull then blame someones pet for it. lol
Havent see a single tank or DPS screaming at the healer for their own stupid mistakes.
AI runs are a real pleasure…as are the Delves now too
You’re conflating your play style with chasing ilevels with what the definition of endgame is in an MMO.
Any content that is made for max level characters is end game content, the higher difficulties are just there for people like you that want to “challenge” yourself.
The vast majority of players don’t bother with high keys and Mythic raiding.
So why bother trying to create systems for such a small minority of players? All it has done is made the rest of the game a toxic cesspit.
The only reason why WoW hasn’t trended the way of Wildstar is because of the strength of its IP and the nostalgia that many have for the game.
I always chuckle when I read comments from elitist players like you, your kind has been in the game since 2004, and most of your takes are just biased views heavily based on your personal experiences with the game.
The older versions of the game were just way easier, which is why WoW grew to the levels it did. I explained to you that the game was better off not trying to create content for people that want to play this game as full time job.
Sure, modern gamers are better than they used to be, but building your gear treadmill around M+ and what Mythic raiding is today is a recipe for disaster for a once very casual MMO that WoW used to be.
The best, most memorable run I have ever had was just that…blackrock depths leveling run.
We took time to do a complete clear.
Sat down half way thru and talked a bit and did that ‘community’ / ‘socializing’ thing that SOME IN HERE CLAIM the game is about as they are insulting, harassing and demeaning others so they want nothing to do with them, lol.
Took about 15 minutes longer than it needed to, but no one left. No one screamed FASTER! No one insulted anyone. No vote kick popped up.
Just 5 players actuallly ENJOYING THE GAME for the game itself, no one acting like a stinky self serving turdblossom …it was a real treat to play with four other really great players.
idk what people were thinkin but i know what ive experienced. I was deep into the game too, a renowned tank on my server. I did everything. The old is better, just like wine.
They don’t get what a MMO is supposed to be, they’re fixated on a narrow set of systems that are designed to keep players like them busy chasing ilevel.
The irony is, the gear resets every patch now, and casual players are given a catch up that almost rivals their gear they spent many hours grinding.
I get that there is a segment of players that want to challenge themselves in WoW, but lets be honest here, there are just way better games out there that are designed from the ground up to be competitive online games.
Trying to turn WoW into this hardcore online competitive game has been a disaster for Blizzard. It was a dumb fad for them to chase.
Clearly…absolutely clueless. lol.
Thankfully Ion and crew have finally figure out that they dont have to cater to one kind of player.
They make more content for solo players, those players stick around and help pay thoser server bills…and EVERYONE can enjoy the game equally.
I only advance so far anymore, personally. The second world content starts getting to easy I stop farming ilvl. Usually at that point I’ll swap to a new alt and do it all over again
I think some of them are one character sorts who focus so much on that ONE that they are totally oblivious to the fact that MANY of us enjoy running alts thru the content a number of times…and that kind of thing IS our ‘end game’ lol
They can do what they choose, as long as they arent running their mouths in my direction for playing my game my way, Im good to go…
That is pretty funny to watch.
Do all that work and its just given away sooner or later with catch up gear, lol
I think the changes made in TWW aimed at solo players is an attempt by Blizzard to stem the bleeding. They chased so many people away from the game with addition of M+. Sure it is popular with core audience that loves it, but the vast majority of MMO gamers hate it.
The M+ mentality has infected every single area of the game, in my opinion. This is why Blizzard is trying to create content for casual players, because these players have been leaving the game.
I think adding housing and making world content more interesting would have gone a lot further with solo types than just slapping some boring scenarios into the game and adding follower dungeons.
Again, Blizzard’s fixation with trying to get people onto that M+ gear treadmill will be the downfall of this game.
WoW’s endgame used to be way more inclusive, but nowadays, Blizzard has to worry about making content for Mythic raid teams and people that want their dungeons to be like hardcore mini raids on a timer.
This is why most people don’t want to group up anymore.
