Itsy Bitsy Spider

Awww they’re adorable. When a spider gets in my house I do my best to take it outside. I would love a jumping spider pet, maybe one day.

for now, it’s increible which is the only time they are tender and cute, until they grow up, and the worst thing is we don’t know if they are poisonous.

In the case of that pet, they are from a tarantula, but it is rare that they are pets without problems to the point that they are tolerant of their poison bites.

But let’s get to the point, Blizzard, no matter how small it may seem, is one of the funniest mistakes it is making, adding a cute pet spider at a time when they are censoring arachnophobia, really ridiculous.

and more ridiculous when I remember how China banned the skeletons and put more meat on them before those of Maldraxxus and now Blizzard is doing the same.

Thank you everybody for all the nightmare fuel.

I especially enjoyed the spider coming towards me with his arms stretched out to rip my face off.

Some of us are not that bright.

Personally, I thought it was going to be a fun nursery rhyme thread and then could not look away.

Although, to be honest, I would have clicked on it anyway because I am an idiot (as noted in the first sentence).

I know!

Despite Ion’s claims, there is no way they took feedback from anyone with actual arachnophobia and or even a sensitivity to creepy-crawlers on that decision.

Hey, you know how people have been asking for a spider filter forever. I have a great idea! We will replace them with crabs.

Crabs?

They also have an abnormal amount of legs, an abnormal amount of joints in their legs, a weird walk and can skitter across surfaces in no time flat. And crabs are even better because they have pincers. Oh, and eye stalks. Can’t forget the eye stalks. It’s the perfect fit!

Okay. We will put it out there and get some feedback.

No need for that. A winner’s a winner!

Yes but they go great with butter.

Jumping spiders are probably the only species of spider on earth that’s universally seen as cute in appearance.

It’s kind of weird that Blizz introduced this pet at the same time announcing the spider filter. Is…Blizz trolling?

I often get the idea the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing.

Naw. Pet is optional. Encounters in game are not.

It’s the large forward facing eyes and their tendancy (through necessity) to point themselves at what they want to see.

Many spiders are nearly blind, or have eyes oriented on the top center of their body. They have no need to “face” what they’re looking at, and therefore seem less intelligent and thus less cute to our smooth anthropomorphist monkey brains.

It works tho. They cute.

is “itsy bitsy” an american thing?

the song is “incy wincy” in australia.
(and we’re spider experts!)

Yes, it’s itsy bitsy in America and incy wincy in the rest of the english speaking world, basically.

I used “itsy bitsy” as I imagined the majority of the audience would be american, but I’m actually quite neutral in this dispute, as I’m not part of the english speaking world  :brazil:

incy wincy makes more sense to me.

the audience which it’s aimed at, are still learning how to create “ts” sounds

Fun fact, there is a Marvel Comics villain called Itsy Bitsy, who has Spider-Man’s powers plus Deadpool’s powers plus 6 arms.

It was written in the US, but wasn’t originally a children’s song or nursery rhyme. It was a campfire thing… apparently. It was later changed for children to include “itsy bitsy.”

You should put a warning on posts like this.

The warning is the word “spider” on the title.

If you don’t want to see spiders and you see a thread about a spider and you click the thread and you see a spider, I’m sorry but you only have yourself to blame lol

It’s really not because there isn’t a indication pictures of real spiders would be shown. That’s victim blaming honestly.

the clue is the word “spider”.
