I was born and raised in the UK, England to be precise spent the first 30 years of my life there and it was itsy bitsy spider back then for us.

It really isn’t, and you are being overly dramatic in a thread you really shouldn’t be in if you see yourself as a victim.

reddit thinks otherwise when it comes to the UK

Ask UK

(and i definitely agree with the point that “itsy bitsy” is reserved for bikinis)

Well considering I was born there, went to primary school and high school there and left at the age of 30, I think I’ll go with what I actually know, vs Reddit which wasn’t even a thing when I was singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider as a child.

the responses are from people who were UK born and raised.

“The Itsy Bitsy Spider” (also known as “The Incy Wincy Spider” in Australia,[1] Great Britain,[2] and other anglophone countries)

the bigger ick, was seeing this comment:

US/Australia/Canada/Ireland/New Zealand/Israel: Hokey Pokey

UK/Caribbean: Hokey Cokey

hokey cokey?

that’s just weird.

No its really not. When Blizzard posts about things like this they don’t put pictures of real world spiders in it…smh

It really is. The thread title is about a new pet in the game, NOT real world spiders.

That’s not correct.

The thread’s title is “Itsy Bitsy Spider”, so it informs you that it’s about a very small spider. It could be an in-game spider, or it could be a real one. It doesn’t even mention the possibility of it being a pet.

When in doubt, assume the worst option you have at hand. That way, you will either be right or pleasantly surprised.

you can see from the mouseover that the thread starts out with “I love jumping spiders so much.” …and assume that it’s something you want to click on, when you don’t like spiders?

nah.

stop making yourself a victim.

my roomate is terrified of spiders, we nearly got into a car crash because of it … i’m the same with roaches and rats… and palametto bugs which are mega flying roaches… im in florida so…

so that niffen thing kinda freaked me out but they were cute and I know they were not going to climb into my bed and eat my face…(yes that exactly happen in nyc were a rat climbed into a baby bed and was eating the babies face it was horrible.)

Stop being a bully. Stop blaming the victim. It’s not a good look.

the only thing you’re a victim of, is your own poor choice.

if you don’t want to engage in discussion of certain topics, don’t click them.

If anyone’s been victimized, it’s poor Bravik here, who I’ve informed will the skittering truth. He might see tidal waves of brown tarantulas on his roads down in Arkansas come September.

It’s usually not too bad, they’re kinda territorial and prefer to avoid one another. But if you’ve had a real wet, buggy summer, they can appear in patches thick enough to creep ya out.

I’ve seen them in Missouri & Colorado during migration. If you’re in a vehicle it’s not as big an ick factor, but walking of cycling, you pause a moment and contemplate your current reality. My one dog (lab mix) chases them, my other dog (pyrenees) gets freaked out by them. So you can imagine how swimmingly that goes if we come across them on our hikes.

They go from two millimeters to 22 millimeters, they stay small and cute. Thousands of people keep them as pets already, it’s not something I just came up with.

don’t eat them, and it won’t be an issue?
