I have 14 level 120s. and i have enough on plate managing them. !
I love alts too but I can’t see having more then 50 for some reason. Even now I find it very tiresome to take 23 through the same WQ, WB, raid, or what have you. Once I get to 50 max level toons half will probably just sit there.
And I already deleted something like 5 max levels due to not liking their name or race. I even deleted 10 of my 11 oldest toons that were on my old server/realm and they were between levels 85 - 100.
If you have time for 50+ toons then more power to you.
To each their own.
I honestly don’t know but how many other mmos offer more than what Blizzard offers in character slots?
I don’t think anybody with an account capped has even a tenth of those characters leveled to max. Typically the alts are all over the level spectrum, some getting play randomly with others stuck in some random expansion because the person the character was being played with quit WoW or some such.

I 100% endorse upping the character limit!
I currently have 58 characters (8 are waiting in deletion limbo). I am EXTREMELY grateful that Blizzard has allowed me to NOT lose my characters if I delete them above a specific level.

It would be wonderful, however, if we could get the max to go up to 75.

Just make a second account. The fact you already said you would be willing to pay for more slots should make that decision really easy.
Surprised this topic is back, but there is a very easy solution to this.
You must prove to everyone that you actively use all 50 characters.
Ion said it’s not possible, so you must prove him wrong.
I suggested this as the best possible solution to this issue years ago and no one took me up on it.
To me, that tells me they are right to leave it capped at 50.
I myself have 50 toons but I basically never touch more than 25 of them.
Whenever I want to make a new toon for a leveling challenge I just delete one.
Having two accounts works well for me as well as I do a lot of stuff with party sync.
Either way, the next step will be on the players. Demonstrate they should raise the cap with facts and they will be forced to do it

And it would increase the names people “Reserve” without ever using. You can reserve 50 names per account, that’s about enough. Stop hoarding all the cool names.
You can already reserve more than 50 with a trial account.

Sure, keep making trial accounts. You don’t get to do it conveniently. And once it’s on a trial account, you also lose it, since it’ll take a while to free up from the trial account to move it to your main account, unless you pay for a transfer.
