The difference being that in raid, you have other healers to help. There used to be a thing called the FSR (5 second rule). If you don’t cast a heal for 5 seconds, you start to regen mana at out of combat rates. Healers would heal in shifts during raid, would have assigned groups to watch, etc.
Well, is it more or less boring than sitting in queue waiting for a healer?
People asked the question: “what happened to all the healers and tanks?”
The answer is: healing and tanking turned into being “DPS AND”. So why do it? Just be a dps and have less responsibility. The wall between roles has eroded. This is the result.
Many players wanted this. DPS and heals were constantly up tanks’ butts about not going fast enough, and the abusive go-go-go mentality was seeping into even casual content, leaving even more players unhappy. The core identity of tanks – keeping every party member alive while managing smart pulls – had been completely forgotten in favor of mass-pulling and bulldozing supposedly dangerous enemies while rushing to the end of the dungeon, all with overtuned self-heals and mitigation. Getting back to the basics was a long time coming.
The season just started. Give it another week or two for DPS and heals to learn to slap more Versatility on their gear, and for the geared Delves players to learn how to actually do the dungeons.
I would say over all its decent if there was one issue it would be tanks need a talent that decreases damage by x% when entering combat. The initial pull is scary on high keys as you can get globaled without having IF stacks up. Heck on a +7 I was globaled by the last trash pack in GB despite using incarn right before the pull.
My best bet at the moment seems to be saving LB for the first global of any pull.
I think the problem is loot rewards being moved to tier 10 freaking dungeon… what is that??? At 610 ilvl, you either are good enough (or lucky enough rather) to have a solid group to clear 7+ or else you can’t get upgrades w/o the weekly vault…
its the worst gating Ive seen in as long as I can remember… disguised as “well technically its not gated”
But the fact that less than half a percent of people cleared 10 keys last week speaks for its self.
The reward structure and affixes has made this season DOA tank changes are minute in comparison. +9s for gilded is insane, you need to deal with fortified AND tyrannical just for vault slots. It’s not sustainable for your average joe, they’ll quit rather than try to climb up the steep mountain they made out of gear above 619.
S1 df had better dungeons in the rotation, better affixes and roughly on par tuning in terms of what people refer to as “bs”.
Right now you have trashcan dungeons nobody likes, boring affixes and similarily difficult tuning.
People ain’t gonna wanna do that.
Yes. PURE greed by blizzard, and its cost them 2 players of my “circle” already… Sad, extremely disappointing… we were all SO HYPED… But +9 for gilded is Greedy. GREED is the word you’re looking for… They purposely want it to be hard to obtain w/o weekly vault.
Yes and? That’s almost every season. Azure Vault was the only dungeon people didn’t really want to do because of the way it was structured and the last boss being tougher.
Right now you have dungeons that are actual garbage nobody asked for like Mists or Siege of Boralus and the “best” ones in the rotation would be considered mid a season ago at best.
