10 seconds? i just finished getting all the glyphs in the first area and still cant get it to work. someone in my guild tried explaining it to me for 30 minutes and i do EXACTLY what he says and its not working for me. I get that i can hover super slowly in the direction i want to go. my issue is i cant figure out how to gain altitude. he said you angle barely downward and your vigor starts filling. by the time my vigor starts filling i have to angle so far down that i dont gain altitude by pressing spacebar when it finally fills. its easier for me to just wait for my vigor to come back by landing and then spamming the jump button. ive tried to learn it the other way and i just cant do it.
Dragon riding is way better than the original flying. I played a bit of Guild Wars 2 and all I thought about was how the mount system was amazing and how WoW needed this. So I am a huge fan. I dipped my feet into dragon racing for the introductory quests and managed gold on most of them and i had loads of fun. I dont like change much but this was much needed.
i got gold on most of the races without trying. those are fun. flying around the world for me is not.
I dont “hate it” hate is a strong word, but I am also on the fence.
Its awesome zooming about but the recharge time annoys me, also it’d be alot easier to control the normal flying mount in smaller areas.
And of course if you want to AFK in the sky etc (bathroom breaks), I am happy with it enough to not hate it if that makes sense, but I prefer my normal flying mount.
That might change as my tree gets maxed, but in smaller areas and wooded areas the old mount wins hands down.
I could see using it to go large distances fast then swapping to do the area I need to.
But I think we need to have the option either way.
It absolutely is OK to complain about something if you don’t like it
But like with anything be honest and try to avoid hyperbole.
Sitting around waiting for vigor while collecting these emblems is such engaging gameplay
It’s just like a half a dozen people alt hopping and liking their own posts.
ive never alt hopped in my life… f that… plus all my characters have basically the same name… lol
Dont be a drama queen
I only hope they carry it forward, been ages since I had fun doing world content in WoW.
Just give people normal flying so they can AFK while turtling their way to their objective.
You have to angle it just slightly down so that you aren’t losing speed while moving horizontally. When you see that blue flash on your drake, that means you’re charging Vigor
Your issue seems to be that between taking off and starting moving, you’re losing all of your momentum. You have to carry the momentum from Skyward Ascent forward into your horizontal movement so that you don’t have to nosedive to get enough speed to charge Vigor
I don’t want them to remove it just because it makes me feel woozy sometimes. I’d just rather they give everyone options. Either the slower traditional flying or the faster DF flying. That way people can pick what they like to do.
for real… lol. that was a bit much. i dont like it… but id never want to go back to borrowed power if i was given a choice. lol
Yeah, that is exactly what he told me. but like i said, by the time i start gaining vigor im already angling down too far. i dunno. like i said. i just suck at at it and cant get it right.
Honestly, I hate dragonriding. I want to like it. But it so frustrating. Please just let me fly. You can have dragonriding and have it be faster than mounts. But please just me fly. I don’t mind being slower, but its really really frustrating to try to quest in zones designed around having flying. I’ve been playing since Vanilla, and new expansions are supposed to be exciting; and this is the closest to quitting I’ve ever been. I just keep hoping it will get better, but it keeps being miserable.
For me, and at least three other people in my guild, it’s not a case of not caring for dragon flying, just inability. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists which make it painful and impossible to sustain the mouse movement required. This is exactly why I play WoW instead of first person shooters or platform games. Not everyone who games is able-bodied, and right now, I’m a bit of a sad panda.
I have these problems too. I highly recommend using an Xbox controller to play. Much easier on the hands.
You can just bind an ability or two on the dragonriding bar. Was annoying for me at first as well til I did this.
I don’t like it. I don’t have any ideas for fixing it because it’s not for me and I won’t be using it now or in the future. What more can I say?
your hella weird and theres nothing left to say then.
