It's ok to complain about Dragonriding if you don't like it

Drag the mount button onto the dragon ridding bar. I have mine at 3, so when i hit 3 i dismount.

I’m glad you like it, but that’s your opinion. If anyone’s opinion is valid, then all opinions are. I like it too, but I would want dragon flight adjacent to normal flight. The systems work differently.

This is the GD forums. People don’t like things generally because a streamer/youtuber told them they shouldn’t. Rarely for any other reason.

It’s a huge improvement over pathfinder. I like it, but hope they allow normal flying later.

Mount collectors like their mounts.

Some players seem to have a hard time with it. Personally i think it is easy, but a mouse is required. I don’t understand so many players that don’t use a mouse. I do have carpal tunnel on my wrist, so try to keep mouse usage to a minimal by using a left hand mouse at work and only playing a couple of hours per day max.

I like two seat flying mounts. I have two accounts for open world content, and don’t use any hardwaree, software or macro assistance for multiboxing; I use follow and two seater mounts, and easy rotations. It’s somewhat annoying to use dragon riding simultaneously on both of my computers.

Those are my personal reasons, and i realize i am an outlier.

  • Dismounting to engage mobs is annoying
  • A single mount, while customizable, isn’t as fun as using one of your preferred mounts.
  • Everything is designed vertically because of it, zones have high elevation and ramps and access ways require much more travel.
  • Wasting time because you thought you could make it and you didn’t and now you’re stuck on the ground waiting for vigor.

Just the ones I noticed that annoy me.

With all due respect, it may seem that way. But it’s not like the forums have some unanimous voice. There are a myriad of opinions on every topic imaginable, and then some. That’s the whole point of a forum, to discuss these ideas not to belittle them.

Once you get every single glyph…it becomes bearable. But on your first character it is excruciating.

Literally every anti-Dragonriding post I’ve seen has been “it doesn’t work right” or “it’s clunky and stupid”, things that are very easily solved by just learning how it works

Easy to see only what you want to see when you close your eyes.

Your opinion is just that : your opinion. Stop thinking it’s somehow right vs everyone else’s.

There is a camp of people with legitimate complaints about DR (motion sickness, motor control issues, and the like) being completely drowned out and clowned by a vocal minority of a DR BAD DRAGONRIDING WORST UNSUBBING 5EVER crowd.

It’s very frustrating.

I imagine if you’d rather do the mentioned systems, those systems weren’t much of an issue for you in the first place.

What if I don’t like it? It doesn’t matter if it works, is easy, or what have you. For what it’s worth, I enjoy it just as I enjoy gryphon riding in GW2. It’s not the same, but quite similar. Now we just need leaping mounts and skimmers.

Then there are flight paths for you

There’s also normal flight, at least there was until there wasn’t.

Dragonflight has never had normal flying in it

Touche. I think we’ll be fine either way. Cheers. :beers:

That is an issue, I find that having the mount button on the dragon riding bar helps.

Hopefully in the future we will be able to use our old mounts with dragon riding.

Start collecting glyphs, when you have all of them you basically have infinite vigor. Takes less than 2 hours. It’s ok to need to wait on vigor while collecting them.

When you have about half the glyphs its no longer really an issue, and its no issue at all when you have all 48.

Used to be I could just Charge or Howling blast or whatever attack.

Probably can customize the bar like the stealth bar.

But still annoying.

You can add charge and abilities onto it, it basically is a stealth bar and use it while mounted but on the ground. On my mage (and ranged specs) I just prefer to have the dismount. On my DK and melee classes I have openers like charge and stuff, or my rogue I just enter stealth because I dragged it there, will likely do the same with Prowl on my druid.

Understandable, a work-around I’ve found that works is putting your rotation abilities on the bar along with your dragon riding stuff.
