Its not that people made a bad choice of a pvp server

So they can have people complaining about not being able to play due to queuing instead of people not being able to play due to griefing? How would that be better?

I don’t think they would be interested.

They offer free transfers now. It would force the faction (if they did faction based queue) that had the higher pop to transfer. Like I said it’s harsh. But what you have not is people not being able to play either.
I agree this is a mess that was created by blizzard because they didn’t cap servers to begin with.
But just read they the forums. More and more threads being made by more and more people. At this point if you have to know Blizzard is gonna do something given their track record.

I’m not trying to argue the point of whether it’s harsh or not, whether it’s justified or not, whether it would fix the problem or not. Although the last point is probably arguable.

I just don’t see Blizzard making that move. I don’t even see any evidence that they are considering any move. Right now, I suspect they are just watching it to see if the initial swarm of enthusiasm settles down over the next couple of weeks.

They may sit back and wait. Unfortunately that’s an answer to the problem as well. If they wait to long and these alliance ( under pop side) get so frustrated they quit/ reroll/ transfer that’s not the greatest answer either. Turns a pvp based server that’s horde heavy into a pvp based server that’s horde only.

UNSUBSCRIBE. Perfect solution

Yes, that is true. Actually, I still find it risable that there are so many Horde forum posters actively goading Alliance players into just that move. I don’t see how it’s in their interest.

I do think that even if forced to queue, most Horde PvPers enjoying easy HKs right now will be extremely unwilling to give that luxury up.

P.S. Perfect example just above. More interested in rubbing the salt into the wound for the short-term lulz than in the long-term viability of the server.

The sad thing is that most of the alliance transferred off the pvp servers onto less populated ones, or alliance dominated servers to hide from pvp. Which really messed up the ratio of H:A in great favor of the horde.

They shouldn’t have allowed so many alliance to leave without the same population of horde transfering.

There are a few solutions that could slowly fix this problem , but there is no instant easy fix.

I personally transferred off a horde dominated server to heartseeker, because I know in time all of the alliance on the horde dominated server will give up soon enough.

Faction specific queues solve all problems. Should have been this way at launch.

Along with the queues were need the player cap lowered as well. Looking at the economy and pvp and many other issues.

O.O

This. To many people flaming and thing it on. That’s party of why I think Blizzard will step in. They want their money. And it’s just good economics because you can see the future of it, if you have no one to farm honor from, you won’t get any.

Exactly why Alliance should all collectively UNSUBSCRIBE together.

Blizzard bottom line is money incoming… you want change? Affect the bottom line

The goal of a company is to not lose the bottom line to begin with. I can almost guarantee that they are ready planning and trying to figure out a solution to this. This is a massive widespread problem. The company is going to want to keep as many subscribers as possible until the new expansion so that they can see if the new expansion is going to draw the classic player base back to retail. If it’s not you can bet your bottom dollar that more time and money will be spent in classic with classic + or TBC.
So what I’m getting at here is they need to keep as many subscribers as possible to the next expansion so they can see which way the wind blows.

I do not get all these posts… you rolled on purpose on a PVP server… you KNEW what it was going to be for months and months…

The forums are drowning in these posts and it just boggles the mind how obtuse these people were for months leading up to this…

You can say that and many people are but all that’s doing is driving the underdogs away. I’m sure those that rolled alliance don’t mind being killed 10 to 1 every now and again. but when it’s nothing but slaughterfest after slaughterfest and they can’t even play. Nobody wants that.
I was going to say you have to look at it from both sides, but the reality is on these forums there are too many flamers that don’t want to look at it from both sides. We have actually had a really good discussion through this thread.

Yes people knew that by rolling alliance they would probably be the underdog. No they didn’t know they were going to be on a server that had 13 to 20,000 players on at a time. And when you’re the underdogs coming in it maybe 2 and 3k hell even 5,000 you don’t want to get your butt handed to you all day. If the servers had a cap of even double what vanilla servers had and you were still outnumbered by double. You would still have 2,000 players against 4,000 players and at least be able to play at odd hours.

nescience, talking about people being obtuse

You think players rolled on those PvP realms 2.5 months ago and KNEW their server would be significantly imbalanced and they’d be farmed/camped for HKs everywhere they went?

EXACTLY… if i had known these servers would have been all horde driven i would have rolled alliance… the only information i was afforded was low medium high population servers with no information about faction

Nope… but they sure knew after the first week now didn’t they?

Complaining about something you could of changed before you even got half way leveled is ridiculous.

I actually had friends transfer away because they saw how imbalanced our server was and they thought wPvP would be boring because we’d barely have anyone to fight.
