Its not about LFR.. Its about communication

This is just a flat out lie. We’ve known about the cat since April. When Blizzard added the achievements into the game and the reward for completing the achievement was the slime cat. What we didn’t know back then was what the slime cat would look like.

Again, for consumer false advertising fraud that’s not necessary. You just need to create a significant impression. Also remember that was PTR at that point. So going LIVE with the achievements that said any difficulty would be confirming that they had solidified the intent to include LFR based on that statement. I think that’s a reasonable understanding for a player to have.

ARRRRRG, What part of already released is hard!?!?!?! The achievements were and are LIVE they were already in the game! This isn’t a new release but a timed change in the existing one. 9.2.7 is just the AH changes.

You know what else I was thinking…

It isn’t just about the fact that it’s a mount. It’s the fact that it’s the Slime Cat.
A mount everyone had the chance to vote for. A mount that I believe was second in the polls, behind the tree that got band wagoned.

People were making concept art over this mount. And making threads about how much they wanted it over the tree.
Just to then be told “Okok, we’ll add that mount to the game… but not for you”.

Anyways.
Give LFR something to work towards.
It’s not a big request.

I feel it’s wasting time trying to go legally when at the end that’s not my specialty and I don’t think yours. I feel there’s enough grey space that you’d have a really hard time, the best would be if you live in Australia and manage to prove a major disfunction in the product. Which a mount isn’t.

Releasing an achievement is not a promise and doesn’t mean it’s released content. They could literally put “explore Tel’abim” and never deliver on it.

It is hard to get behind your argument when you jam accusations like this into it.

This makes you look unreasonable. A proper example of bait for a 6 month subscription is that it’s conditionally cheaper than buying 6 consecutive months of game time.

Yep, and that makes this hit even harder.

It’s honestly really damn weird. No clowns on this forum were raging about the slime cat being available in LFR for months. They’ve only started clawing their way out of the car now that people are justifiably upset about being misled.

LFR players should get the slime cat, if only because Blizzard screwed up for months and gave players the impression that they could earn it in LFR. Until today players who didn’t come to this forum or look at fansites like mmo-champion and wowhead were still under the impression they could earn it in LFR.

That’s wrong, 100%.

Have they tried not buying mounts? and just paying for month to month… or is 6 month sub you save more money and you get a free mount so really is a win?

Or casual players can do casual normal raid? crazy mind blowing… don’t understand the rants about this, oh no they removed a mount from LFR i guess i have to do normal CRAZY. Its not even a hill worth dying on, like there are other worth while criticism that should be focused on. For example they should give us fat goblin customization options.

Literally none. I don’t raid for the mount. I raid for the bosses, for the loot, and for the community with my guild. Mount is an added bonus.

Ignoring the forest for the trees.

The anger is about players being misled. If Blizzard had, in April, stated very clearly that the slime cat would only be available if you completed the achievements on normal or higher, hardly anyone would be giving a toss. Sure, there would still be some salty players, like myself, who are tired of Blizzard disrespecting LFR players time and treating LFR like a red-headed stepchild, but the vast majority of voices currently speaking up about this would likely not be speaking up at all.

But because Blizzard misled players for months, making them believe the mount could be earned until 5 days before the event, that’s why players here are angry. And the reveal of that knowledge didn’t even come from an official news post, mind you, just a small 2 line blue post from Kaivax who said he ‘hoped to see events like the friendship moose return’. Respect to Kaivax of course, but he’s absolutely sharing an ignorant take because the reason why the friendship moose and friendship bird event succeeded was because only one boss had to be killed, not 30+ over multiple weeks.

I disagree but only in the sense of it’s worth taking the 10min to file the complaint or talk to a lawyer that specializes in arbitration. Could they just ignore the complaint or tell you there is no case? Yes, and they might. But doing so would at least settle it for that person. That’s still more productive than these arguments are.

Finally a community council member that I feel represents the majority playerbase. Thank you.

And the only reason this happened was because someone specifically asked about LFR in a post. If they hadn’t asked nothing would have ever been said and the achievement would have remained unchanged.

I mean it’s kinda about LFR for me.

Pugging is hell on earth (just look at the pure disdain towards LFR players on the forums alone), LFR is all I got

It’s not just about communication, it’s about expectations. This is a disappointing.

Yep, exactly.

Meaning that people might have woken up today, jumped into LFR, then got really upset when they realized that they didn’t get achievement credit for their LFR run. Hell, some people are still going to do that, since the vast majority of a games playerbase do not use forums or read news websites, and that last minute hotfix to change the achievements likely isn’t going to get noticed.

So they got better gear from LFR and then they can apply to normal raids.

Try as you might to convince yourself otherwise, this is entirely about the cat. Blizz comms have been hostile to the player base for years. Nothing new there.

Yeah see, it doesn’t work that way.

Normal raids only run at certain times based on your server, they also have more strict requirements to get into them. Especially since this is a fated raid, players aren’t going to be overgeared for this one.

And the fated raids cycle, so if you don’t get into Nathria this week because your schedule is horrid and you just aren’t around to do a normal raid, then you’ve got to wait until Nathria becomes fated again, which won’t be for another 2 weeks. Then you’ll have another shot at it when Nathria becomes the fated raid again.

So ‘just run normal’ isn’t as helpful as you think it is. Nor does it excuse what Blizzard did.

You can run cross server raids btw, join a community and talk with friendly people. Also you have such a long time to get the slime cat, you dont have to GET IT RIGHT AWAY… so you miss a raid one week… just wait two, its not like you gonna do anything else in game if LFR is all you did.
