Which gets them nothing when it comes to end game, at most early access will just get them a few days smaller crowds for the next exp.
It would have, but this is the problem with current blizz. Iâm not gonna let them them do me dirty again.
Maybe they should justâŠdo it NOW? Yeah that sounds much better.
Or when they sling money at them for tokens.
They do this so that they donât have to mess with your inventory. Flightstones were a currency, so itâs straightforward to covert them to gold. But the Crests were items, and they really donât like stomping over folks bags to covert stuff like that, so they just make them gray and then you can sell them forâŠhowever much. 1c, 1g, not important.
YOU get to mess with your inventory, rather than them doing it.
Doesnât changing the currencies to the new one today mean that I can farm up a bunch of stuff ahead of Season 3?
Or are the crests going to get reset again next week? Do they even drop this week?
If itâs like any other patch in recent history, the fast catch-up mechanic will likely overshadow any of these items you couldâve created.
They will likely cap it at either whelpling or or drake this week, keep in mind wyrm and aspect take higher M+ or raid to get.
Had 1 character with 2000 and the rest under 100 and starving for them. The grind starts anew!
@Kaivax So you are telling me, from your own article link, that ALL of the crests i have saved to be able to trade up to Wyrmâs crests are going to be useless, even though this here says otherwise?
One of the most common requests with this system is the ability to exchange low-level Crests for higher-level Crests. After receiving this request quite a few times, we agree that in a limited form, this would be both fun and healthy. So, in Season 3, players who have run out of upgrades to purchase with a given Crest will be able to exchange their Crests upwards. To use Dragonflight Season 2 numbers, players had no more use for Whelplingâs Shadowflame Crests after reaching ilvl 411 in every gear slot (using the same rules as the catch-up discount uses), Drakeâs Shadowflame Crests at ilvl424, and Wyrmâs Shadowflame Crests at ilvl437. Trade-ups will become available at those thresholds.
Trade-ups will cost a 6-to-1 ratio; once a trade-up is available, players will be able to spend 90 Crests to get 15 crests of the higher level. This will count towards both the cap on the lower level Crest being spent (since you have to earn them) and the higher level Crest being purchased, so players have no incentive to do lower-level content for Crests, though if theyâre not capped then theyâll still be able to get some benefit.
For example: Tamsin regularly runs Heroic and Mythic raids, while her sister Cariel mostly only logs in to play some medium-low Keys and do Normal raids with her friends. Tamsin has long since gone past the ability to benefit from Drakeâs Crest upgrades, so sheâs eligible to trade Drakeâs Crests in for Wyrmâs Crests. As long as Tamsin isnât already capped on Wyrmâs Crests, if she helps Cariel out with a Normal raid night and earns some Drakeâs Crests in the process, sheâll be able to trade them in eventually for the Wyrmâs Crests sheâs looking for.
This is for Season 3 stuff, not Season 2.
Everyone starts at Zero.
We will see when the servers are up, because the OP says otherwise, and if my crests are now junk, how the heck am i getting into even LFR that rewards 20ilvls higher gear than my ilvl 425 characters?
The4re has to be a ilvl limit for LFR, and i hope to heck its NOT above ilvl425 then!
It be filler until something better took the place. Thereâs been items I have kept just cause nothing was a better upgrade. It be for fresh 70 characters to have a easier way to get upgrades.
Yes a use for my void bank so one day i can show my grandkids
âBaaAack in my day, we had crests, like these, and we loved them! WeÊ»d grind them back to back uphill both ways!..Eh? where was I?.. I want puddingâŠâ
just go do the story and some public content that awards 437 gear
Many of us assumed weâd be able to use season 2 stuff, thatâs why we were saving them.
because the OP says otherwise
The OP does not say âotherwiseâ Itâs using Season 2 numbers as an example, nothing more.
Never once anywhere was it implied you could upgrade S2 crests, Never

Exactly! I was going off of the official post that i quoted just above!!!
Ground weeklies for 2 months in the open world, that is MY endgame, to get those crests to trade up!!!

Well then they really worded that crud wrong!!!
Usually in my experience the gold conversion is a slap in the face for the time it took to gathering that special currency. Would be nice to stop with special currency from season to season, expansion to expansion.

Yes it was. Thatâs the reason why Kaivax decided to clarify in this post.
