It is utterly insane that people with 485+ ilevel gear can come into a normal raid and roll Need on gear

Yes, that is correct, and nothing is stopping someone from rolling Need on anything they have the ability to.

I just take issue with the generalizations like “transmog > ilevel”, when we can show that’s absolutely not the case.

Yea, I operate primarily on principle than practice. Otherwise there’d be absolutely zero discussion here lol.

Yea, sorry about that, my bad!

And yes, I too like to solo old raids as well… though I’m tired of just running ICC and Legion stuff now, so I’m with you on that!

I got the solution, ilvl min/max to enter any raid level that’s current content. Funny enough, no one complains about the carry during the fight, only when they want mogs after.

Doing LFR takes way longer then heroic farm. Last night on my DH only 3 people did over 100k to boss me a ret pally and a hunter rest and below 60k some dps even doing less than tanks and healers but they were alive during the fight. I got so bored and tired by the end

Why am I not surprised the same old argument is still running about LFG/R loot rules more than a decade after the initial system was implemented? /facepalm

The solution is simple: if you can’t stand the roll-heat, stay out of the LFG/R-kitchen.

Don’t do a search for “need roll” in the forums… this is not only a long-running grievance, it’s incredibly frequent.

That’s why my first post in this thread said it’s a spam topic because it really is at this point, every day someone or multiple people come and make the same thread about this because they lost a loot roll and it’s like get over it or at least post in one of the existing threads.

The community as a whole are all just lazy and toxic, from the LFR hero to the world first raider. People need to stop acting like this isn’t the case…

Oh I don’t need anything from LFR. I just take issue with people going that way on principle. Does it change anything? Nope.

I like to discuss logic and rational things. So trying to decode the Blizzard rules is a bit of fun.

Interpretation of the Greed, Need, Pass and Trans mog is left for the players to decide but that has changed over time. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. I know for myself, I might contribute to the boss kill, but I came to the event not for the pixels or potential loot but for the adventure, something that seems to be lost with a value put on our time invested. So, I will select the appropriate option even if it means a guaranteed loss of roll.

If they never had trans mog as an option instead allowing Alchemist to make a dye that players could use to change the color scheme, then the fight would become people needing on gear with the sole purpose of charging money on someone to buy back the drop.

Few weeks ago, that was a discussion in the forums much like multiple discussions on going about needing on trans mog gear verse someone that could legitimately needing the gear to increase their performance. To me it seriously seems like it’s a me attitude going on instead of the players coming together having fun beating content that Blizzard has put out.

If Blizzard would just change trans mog roll winner gets a copy of item as appearance only, they add armor dye, or a higher-level piece unlocks lower tiers we as a community will continue to fight over these situations when all it takes is the Blizzard listening and changing the system to stop it.

Not all players are capable to do Mythic. So, they relied on the LFR loot that people deem is a need for a new color verse an actual upgrade. Soon as Season 4 rolls in the hamster wheel will start again for gear upgrades and pixels (trans mogs).

Seriously the original intent of the system is Need if it’s an upgrade for your class and spec, greed if you want to sell it in some form and pass if you don’t want the item. Adding trans mog to the equation muddled it up making people say it was an upgrade when in reality all it is, just another color. An easy fix by making people that roll trans mog, winner gets an appearance only copy or alchemist can make armor tint potions.

But Goodluck in your adventures. May the servers come up soon so you can get that next color scheme upgrade.

I’m so out of touch with the looting rules. I thought we still had the thing where if the item wasn’t an upgrade, you couldn’t need on it. At some point I got tired of trying to understand the rules around looting because they’ve changed so much and often

getting gear at any difficulty should automatically unlock the mog from lower difficulties. just kill their desire to do lower content other than raid logging.

As others have stated, People have every right to roll on the loot in a boss they help kill. It don’t matter why they “need” it. They have a right to roll on it. Or would you prefer higher geared people NOT come help with a raid they need something in.

You can still have fun doing the content and want the rewards for your participation though.

Sorry mate. This is a community game. Always has been. We used to know that.

But I understand that not everyone recognizes the impact that anonymous internet usage has had on our community. How we treat each other like trash. And then wonder why the player base is dying.

This can be solved by having all the transmogs of lower quality being unlocked when you get the top quality one.

But then you miss out on those over geared people carrying the group and making the run faster and smoother.

It is what it is. Normal loot is whatever. Better off running M+ aside from trinkets.

Why do we keep pretending high end players are running lfr for tmog? High end players spent several years complaining about having to run lfr for quests, ap, tier, trinkets and wf/ tf. But you think they are doing it for tmog they won’t use?

They are doing it to sell items. It’s trashy.

That’s a huge blanket statement. Very rarely does that happen. People probably offer to buy items more than people try to sell.

High geared people run LFR all the time just for mogs.

I’m really looking forward to the first time I see someone trying to sell LFR gear. Gonna be a great laugh.

Yea…this doesn’t happen. This person is lying to push some fake agenda. It’s weird.

I mean, what about the dudes who are running around in fully upgraded 4/4 Myth level Tier Gear and full bis…and roll need in LFR?
I have several characters who had to wait until just last week to be able to get just the basic four piece set from doing LFR every week. Every wing. I had to catalyse. Vault gave me a total of three set pieces across all 13 characters. Maybe 5. LFR gave me like 4 across all of them. Everything else was catalyst for all of them.

The people are the problem, for the most part. People are just greedy. They see that they CAN roll Need, and never stop to ask if they SHOULD roll need…so they just hit need.
They don’t want to think, they just want.

When you can figure out how to fill the void in mans heart, you will have power over all of humanity…
