There is actually an easy solution to this that Blizzard hasn’t thought of for some reason: Let me unlock all lower difficulty appearances if unlock Mythic.
Now I’m not going to be yoinking loot from people that might actually put it on.

Ok, Nostradamus.
You are if you’re begging for that item that i won though.
Yes, but they won’t since running stuff for transmog is a part of the game.
Look. If I’m in LFR on my main I’m hardcore carrying the whole thing and if I want TMog then I’ll roll need if the game lets me.
Blame Blizzard not me, they allow it, they refuse to implement the many many suggestions to fix it (for example allowing us to collect lower tmog from learning higher ones, making catalyst chargeless if you’ve already converted that slot this season, etc).
So until then I’m sorry, but I’m going to keep rolling need for my t-mog.
The only thing that needs to be greased is that lego dropping.
Anyone can run m0 and just get gear as strong as lfr.
I agree with you to a certain extent. If they are rolling on gear that is for their current spec that they already have better items for absolutely agree. However, some of those people are rolling for items that is not for the spec they are playing but for a spec they want to play. Setting loot specialization allows them to roll on items like this to gear out their other spec and be considered main spec.
I see these posts all the time but almost never any pointing out the players who do low dps, stand in the fire, die early etc and still roll.
Yeah I get it, new players, I don’t begrudge them for being in lower end raids, that’s what they’re for! We’re getting too wrapped up with literals, I “need” doesn’t mean I “deserve” it any more than anyone else.
look at the raid comp, if you see high level carry characters in there and you can’t handle them possibly winning something over you, talk to them about what they need or just bounce. Make your own group. People are fine with someone else doing the leg work of forming the raid, other characters carrying the raid, until it affects them.
I understand how you feel. We have all been in raids where we lost to someone with better gear already. Keep plugging away and one day you will be the person that has the opportunity to change that when you get geared. It also sucks that you have to get all three versions of a piece of gear to get all the visuals for the set. They really should give us all three visuals when you get heroic or mythic versions.
well said.
Not every player can fit into a guild and not all guild’s fit into a player’s time frame. On my server there was only one guild that raids at my current time of 6-9 am and I haven’t seen or heard from that guild in a few months.
Now however my ability to play at peak performance is hampered by an amputation on my hand that makes it harder for me to play the game. Before I would not do dungeon or raid content because I didn’t want to ruin another player’s experience and now it’s been driven home, I will never be able to again.
I used to set up several raids a week before I left wow back in 2011. Whether people needed loot or not a group of us would help other adventurers experience parts of the game not normally obtainable by them. Could be because of a non-raiding guild or content above their skill level. Unfortunately, those days left when I came back to wow a month before shadowlands and the state of gamers changed to more of a toxic player base in that content.
I can honestly say I haven’t raided current content until this last season and only until Fyrakk was available and then stopped again. I didn’t know what I was doing, and I asked numerous times what to do and all I got was crickets from the raid. So yes, my DPS might have been lower, I might have stood in fire, but the phases weren’t explained to me.
The only reason I managed some balance is DBM an add-on I had to use in order to do something. One should never need an add-on to tell them what to do and when to do it. Now that I am done raiding probably forever now with my hand issue, I no longer need this add-on.
Anyways, everyone have a good patch day. Keep the discussions civil and may whatever loot god you pray to be lenient to your RNG rolls.
I understand the gripe. Maybe just let us buy the different tints. Idk
Uhhh what now
I rarely raid anymore, but hey if i que and lose every roll it sucks but then the people who won put in the same time I did so I just enbrace the loss and maybe que next week or not. I fully expect that any Pug will be people looking out strictly for themselves after all who am I to them, and will they ever play with me again?
If you lose a loot roll, you lose the loot roll, what gear the other person is wearing doesn’t matter.
Why are you even looking at what they’re wearing? They participated in the kill, they won, get over it.
you wrote this long winded rant so i think u dont
your upgrade thats irrelevant next patch is < my permanent mog inventory addition
get your priorities straight
The other thing that did come to mind was there are high-level carry players who are doing these runs with undergeared friends and feeding the loot they win to them.
They could add Prismatic Dyes so that Alchemist could craft potions allowing players to tint the color of their gear. Something Ever quest has had since 2003. Another option is players that select trans mog receive an appearance only piece of loot if they win instead of rolling need against someone that needs a legitimate gear upgrade.
QQ … maybe they have friends they’re rolling for.
I bet you’re real happy to have these “high geared” players carry you but then it suddenly becomes a problem when they roll need on gear from a boss they helped to defeat.
