It is time to give the Alliance actual playable High Elves!

I sincerely wish Blizzard would just nuke the Silver Covenant and erase every last indication of Alliance Blood Elves as possible. They made a monumental mistake making Void Elves be excommunicated Blood Elves; it should have been every “High Elf” being turned, and Alleria should be a Void Elf all the time.

The best Blizzard can do is knock down the faction wall entirely, shatter it to tiny pieces, so that the Helfer hive mind can have their precious white skinned, blond haired, blue eyed Paladins and this can finally be put to rest.

As it should have been from day one.
They will get their update with the Blood Elves later on.

Except the playable void elves did not gain their powers like alleria, so it makes little sense they would look like her. No the customization is meant for players to RP as high elves, nothing more, nothing less.

I disagree, they should had continued to build up the unique aspect of the void elves and make them more different then high elves/blood elves.

Yes I agree, high elves have been in the alliance for a long time and its absolutely time for them.

The majority of players have spoken though - otherwise they wouldn’t have gone back on their original idea.

The player has more freedom to be whatever he wants, a high elf or a void elf like Alleria.

There are players who like void elves but don’t want to be blue with tentacles.

you mean the loudest. There is allot more unsatatysfied people due to them.

They had the choice of rolling a blood elf for that.

Then don’t choose void elves? or dreanei?

You wish - but that’s not reality, similar how the discussions about the Mage Tower appearances go at the moment. The recent reddit topic had over 1000 upvotes while the groups on the forums have been pretty even.

People outside the forums agree upon giving the Alliance the High Elves - and it’s time to accept this. If you really want to vent out, then feel free to make a reddit topic about not giving the Alliance the High Elves and offering Half Elves and see how far you will fare.

The Void Elves are a group of blood elves who have joined the alliance.

It’s ironic anyway.

Blizzard = :clown_face:

I dont want high elves but i wish the alliance would get them so they can shut up.

Lying to yourself now huh? It is the reality.

Let me correct you again;

They have the tools to RP as them, we do not need high elves anymore.

To be fair it was absolutely a corrupted wish on blizzards part - something that was not done to Horde AR’s. They owe to the dwindling alliance fan base to make up for it.

I think the scene with the daughter of kent Brockman summarizes the spirit of this thread

We have enough Elven races and adding another that visually looks similar to them is just a waste of resources.

And guess what, Blood Elves also have 2 themes. Nice try though.

What identity is that? Where they are also Blood Elves or High Elves on the Alliance that have studied the void, with only Umbric and his followers only ones transformed by Etherals?

Blood Elves were only unique to the Horde.

Thank you for confirming, this was all along about stopping the Alliance from having there High Elves.

Official source to this please?

You obviously have not looked in the old High Elf threads where people have requested for the models to be altered a bit to look a bit different then.

That was precisely the problem.

But fortunately Blizzard has corrected its mistake with the high elf customizations.

That’s a good question. I’ve thought about that too. It would probably be something arcane based if i had to guess. I mean if it had been High Elves from the start perhaps it would have been the same racials as “Void Rift” and “Entropic Embrace” but arcane themed since i could see them still being shaped to the High Elf fantasy.

I’m still hoping we get a glyph or a way to change the racials to fit that someday for the Velves. I think we probably will eventually.

I think that this is going to happen as well. I don’t see it happening in Shadowlands obviously since… it feels so disconnected from everything.

But going forward i think the Void Elves whenever they show up are probably going to be treated more as High Elves rather than Void Elves. Including the characters who show up using those appearances. That’s not to say i don’t think there wont be Void users amognst them but i think they’re going to be presented as High Elves/Same united Group.

One does not correct a “mistake” with making an actual mistake, albiet a bigger one.

Of course, there would have to be a mistake implied to correct, in which case there was none.

No they don’t. They only have their own theme, which is the blood elf theme. (which guess what, IS THE ACTUAL HIGH ELF THEME.)

Sorry for length, but it’s worth it if you’re serious about getting High Elves!

The major problem here is that Blizzard is sticking to its guns on the number of High Elves that remain, which is less than 1,500, for the entirety of Azeroth. Only like 1% of that stuck it out with the Alliance, and another 1% show up after everything has gone down, and they get the cold shoulder from both the Alliance AND their people who stayed with the Alliance in the first place.

There’s a lot for them to contend with; High Elves were distrusted by Night Elves, seen by (some) Blood Elves as traitors, on uneven footing with Humans, and they’ve been outright prejudiced against half elves.

Having said that, I think the best, and only, way for High Elves now is to embrace Half Elven society.

  1. There are way more Half Elves than there are High Elves in Azeroth; the ones in Stormwind alone have to outnumber the entirety of all remaining High Elves, by over 4 to 1. Give them purpose, and Half Elves could shore up the ranks, easily.

  2. It’d be a substantial path of redemption for High Elves, story-wise. The High Elves that remained with the Alliance, called out their king for downplaying the strength and sacrifice of humanity. They should be the teachers and historians for the Half Elven population, who fervently remind other High Elves, Half Elves, Dwarves and Humans to put aside prejudices and embrace change, or face similar destruction.

  3. High Elves at this point would need allies to vouch for them. The first people to support the High Elves, would be the Wildhammers, even moreso than Humans and current Half Elves. High Elves had a lot of prejudices in the past, dealing with that through iconic allies such as the Wildhammers would be next level storytelling, as it’d throw the standard Elf / Dwarf dichotomy on its head.

  4. High Elves need a new kingdom. I believe the Alliance just won back Stromgarde in BfA. Stromgarde was one of the kingdoms that gave its all to protect the former High Elven kingdom and lands from the Amani. Give it to the new Half Elven Kingdom and the remaining High Elves. Ancestral human lands given to them freely…there’s all kinds of lessons and emotions in this.

Finally, to seal the deal, have Half Elves (along with their Human and High Elven parents) refer to themselves as Nova Thalassians or something. Maybe a new 'Dorei thing.

As for classes, Half Elves can be paladins (Arator), so there’s that. Also, Rogue, Mage, Warrior, Hunter, Priests and Druids. Hell, this could introduce Savagekin into the game, that’d be sweet.

There you go, new stuff that uses established lore, doesn’t stomp on Void Elves, and gives all of you the blond haired, blue eyed elven paladins of your dreams. If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading!
