basically my issue is that my main WoW account is EU. However since I work late sometimes and I heard a lot of good things about NA ladder I decided to buy a second account. EU LFG is empty at 2 am so NA was natural decision.
The problem is WoW token is not available for my NA account. I even contacted GMs and they said they couldn’t do anything. Is there any way that is not against code of conduct that I can buy gold (even not directly) like buying store mounts and pets and selling them on auction house. Legendary items on my server literally cost 200 k gold (4 times more than on my EU server). Before I will farm this the season will end.
Can someone advise me what to do in this situation? Otherwise I’ll have to cancel NA sub until the end of Shadowlands and hope that legendary items aren’t back in the next Expansion.
NA and EU regions are entirely separated. Store mounts items are BoP as well.
It may be within the realm of possibility that you could trade NA gold for EU gold with someone who has NA gold but wants EU gold, but that’d be an entirely unsupported transaction and I’d defer to others to chime in on that (basically, don’t do it until someone else confirms that it’s OK because I’m not entirely sure). Otherwise I can’t think of anything else.
Probably I could do it if I set my preferred region to NA. I did 1 huge mistake though I put my NA account on the same battle.net one. If I created separate battle.net account for random gmail address then I’d be able to buy it. Unfortunately someone advised me to do it on one bnet account as then you can be logged to both at the same time.
The only solution GM advised me is to change my dedicated region in bnet account. However you can do it only once per few months and as far as I checked it on bnet website I need to confirm it with any document that I’m technically in NA.
That, as mentioned by the GM, is working as intended, due to differences in currency, and why you can’t buy one outside of the supported region.
The country of residence registered on your Battle.net account must belong to the same region as your World of Warcraft account. For example, if you play on American realms, the country registered on your Battle.net account must belong to America.
It is currently not possible to buy WoW Tokens for real money in Brazil and Argentina.
So buying a us token wouldn’t be possible from a ey address, sorry.
Alright, so it sounds like gold trading across regions would be allowed in the same way that trading between retail and classic would be, if I’m understanding your statement correctly.
Essentially, in this example scenario, OP has EU gold and needs NA gold, so if he found someone who has NA gold but wants EU gold (the opposite), he could trade with them in an unsupported transaction, where OP would send his EU gold to the other person’s EU account, and the other person would send their NA gold to OP’s NA account.
Yup, that is indeed risky and unsupported, but allowed within the rules if I’m not mistaken. I wouldn’t recommend it personally, I’m just trying to throw the options on the table, and that’s the only one I can think of. But yeah it’s still super risky either way.
That’s what GM advised me to do. To change it to NA but since you can do it once per few months I don’t want to do it. If I had another bnet account that wouldn’t be a problem.
You would have to legally use your registered address, which would be in the EU, not the NA region. Otherwise, you would be committing fraud since you state by agreeing to the EULA that you are using all correct information on an account.
The fix for this is to add a balance in the amount of the service (character boost or token for example). Then send a ticket to a GM saying you want that service to be added to your account and to use your balance. Done.
Anything older than a week or two is a necro. The OP has not used that character on the forums since September 2022. They’re not likely to be following this any longer.
And honestly, this feels pretty sketchy. It may have been done once as an exemption if it did happen for you, but yeah. The regional rules exist for a reason.
