lol @ 10 mins of course u get 4 stars…10 minutes he says. And I mean no offense
Clocks, how do they work?
Pretty much. In order to pass it, you need to do dumb stuff like refusing to take more than one of the same power up. Such a bad design.
WHy ?
You don’t need to make par to get the 4 stars to open up the next floor. You can actually get more by breaking all the jars, getting all the trapped souls ,avoiding the purple anima powers, getting as many anima powers that are not duplicates , doing bonus objectives and a couple of other things.
people have posted explanations and links to info on the bonus scoring system all over this thread and others. your argument seems to be that you shouldn’t have to read because you’re already doing everything perfectly.
all games have rules. spending two minutes learning the rules to the game you’re playing doesn’t make you a turbo nerd.
I don’t think you understand how they ruined Torghast… Torghast use to be a way to play how you prefer, it was all on you, so long as you completed it you progressed. That’s not the case now…
Before you could speed run to the last boss, kill everything, or tactically just kill a few to progress all while taking your time…
This new system now is creating a “META” way to play or be left behind, you can’t just tactically kill specific mobs to progress anymore… you need to kill and break everything, need to use empowered system, chain kills… it’s ruining Torghast…
People already hated what Torghast became on release, adding a timer and a specific meta way now to advance in layers just adds another level of hate… instead of actually improving Torghast they now actually are dictating the way you play…
I’ve read all the posts of people defending Torghast, you included, all are literally saying the exact same thing, don’t worry about the timer just kill everything, use empower, break all urns do bonus objectives…literally only one way to do it… the “Meta” way…
They are literally now created a meta way to progress then a more play how you like play style… what was wrong with the old system?, why make it more complicated then even more so if you don’t achieve a certain rating you can’t progress…
Some people are so blind in denial and just think everything is a blessing from Blizzard now days not realising anything .
following the rules of the game isn’t “meta”. you don’t get to drive a golf cart to the end of the hole and drop the ball in by hand, then brag that you got a hole in one.
Ahh yes you mention a video game then link it to something irl, good example… I better not shoot Lightning at cops too
Forcing people to do the same content they previously did a specific way and only way to progress, isn’t good content, that’s not how to make it “more fun”, we had 8 months of doing Torghast, people all did it differently, played to their own unique strengths that suited them… some rushed floors, some took their time, some killed tactically to just hit the boss, some ignored chests and urns… they played how they liked… for 8 months…
Now throw that all out the window, you can only do it one way, you have to do it or say goodbye to legendary rank 5-6… that’s a great way to re excite the player base , sorry can’t play like how you did for 8 months, it’s now this way and only this way…
as you said cause it’s following the rules…, sometimes I think you being such a white knight is actually making you lose touch to humanity… not realising what you defend… one day you’ll wake up and see… I hope.
You have to really zoom out on this problem to understand HOW DEPRESSING the truth of this statement is.
Because BEFORE WoW, MMOs thrived on complete lack of information. It was just… accepted… that there would be a lack of information and you would need to tab out to a 3rd party site to figure things out. (nothing would have ever been done in AC without Maggie the Jackcat)
Blizzard made it part of the WoW mission statement that such a system TOOK AWAY FROM THE PLAYER EXPERIENCE. Their quote was “you shouldn’t have to tab out to play our game.”
And while Thottbot and Wowhead were around in Vanilla, for the most part, you didn’t NEED it.
Not when you compare it to how the scoring system of Torghast works. Or so many other things/systems in the game now. If you’re not tabbing out, you will NEVER understand wtf is going on.
The final proof of Blizzard’s failure and fall from grace? It’s now even a log in tip that if you need to “try going to another website!” They should feel utterly DISGRACED to have that as a freaking log in tip. It goes against one of the founding things that made WoW great. >(
I would say they arnt clearly defined, like have more than 500 phantasma per character at end of run, use a ravenoues anima cell on a broker, dont let an elite get to many stacks, have more than 5 orbleorn armaments ( the % stat modifies btw) kill two elites under
X seconds apart, dont get hit by a trap, open a chest, save an adventure, so on there are more just naming a few
but I think its supposed to be part of the “rougelike” expierence and not have everything just handed to you like an amusment park ride. Go figure things out have fun ( not taking an epic power one shoulndt exist imo but w/e)
Counter: Sony Playstation model
The CEO for the Playstation was quoted as saying (words to the effect) “We wanted our games to be user-friendly enough that you didn’t NEED a manual … but if you wanted more info, or you really got stuck, that info was there.”
THAT is how it should be played.
some people like exploring and figuring things out, cant cater to everyone just have to hopefully have the right blend and outrage the least amount of people for success
When was the last time Blizzard explained anything? They themselves rely on us doing the work on the PTR and explaining it to each other, it costs them nothing that way.
While true, I also like exploring, but at the same time there is no way one person can explore and learn everything on their own. They will for sure miss something and need the assistance to find what they are missing.
They may even simply miss something because of RNG, like the new 32 slot bags that drop from the nests in Korthia, I had no idea they were a thing until people started linking them in chat. If no one had linked them I could have gone the rest of 9.1 and beyond without ever seeing one, but now that I know they are there I will put more emphasis each day to ensure I cap out my nests.
If things weren’t so RNG than sure let people explore, but due to how RNG everything is we need each other to group together and help learn everything we can.
pretty sure things will get explained more for those aren’t trying to min max the crap out of everything over time like the whole portal thing and teleporter repair kit, you unlock it and it tells you how do it and sends you there to retrieve things just not in a quest log format
torghast kinda does with the box of many things being given to you during your first run, and explaining it briefly and showing you things like research this and torments go away and take this and everything will be looted for you, you do another run and get different results much better results, some things happen coincidently so may never be found, how long did jenafur remain unfound? and there was cryptic as crap clues to figure that out
peeps complain that torghast is boring and tedious in repetition
bliz doubles down and makes it even worse and requires a ton more repetition
if this version came out first , I believe it would have been better received
If I had a nickel for everytime Blizzard made a promise they went back on I wouldn’t need to pay for my sub anymore. They said you could totally AFK in Torghast, yet assassins and timers would like to disagree.
you can AFK in Torghast. the assassins don’t strike if you don’t move at the beginning of a floor, or on the vendor floor.
you do not need to make time to get 4 or even 5 stars.
no lie detected.
I think Highlander (no duplicates) is the worst.
8.3 corruptions hahaha
