Is World of Warcraft a game for old farts?

My personal methane production has nothing to do with whether I play or don’t play this game.

In fact, my methane production is simply a byproduct of my bovine physiology and beyond my conscious control.

/moo :cow:

Been playing MMORPGs all of my adult life. In my experience the genre generally attracts older players and always has.

When our life clocks start flashing.

Now i can tell who’s old lol

To a teenager and an emotionally stunted 20-something (many of them) it definitely is.

a few( or alot) of us are in are 30s now  i started playing WoW when i was 13 or 14 and im 31 now…now get off my lawn ya damn kids…

i find it interesting that this thread wasn’t flagged (it doesn’t deserve flagging btw), but usually when I see a light jab it’s always reported.

There was a time when complex games were favored by young people. But the latest gen now in thier teens and whatnot were raised on mobile trash mostly… Games that shower you with rewards for pressing the big flashing button in the middle of the screen that says PRESS ME!

I dunno about that, I think there have been kids who like complex stuff, and most kids who don’t, in any generation.

Back in the late 1970’s I loved complex games and was playing multiple RPG’s (paper & pencil) and lots of hexmap-and-chit strategy games, while most of my friends were playing Pac Man.

I think it’s also true today. There are the nerds who like complex stuff, but most kids won’t.

Some people enjoy investing time in activities, all the way back to stamp collecting and building a ship-in-a-bottle. But most people don’t have the attention span.

Because younger people like playing other games :man_shrugging:

Most playing this game started when they were young and stuck it out.

Get off my lawn, you stupid kids!

I’m 27 I’ve had this warrior since I was 14 lol

Old farts are better than new farts. Old farts tend to dissipate and are generally odorless, but new farts are often stank and juicy. A new fart can literally envelope a person in fumes.

Dust.

Clings in the air…like anima used to……

Old fart checking in

I agree! When I was a teenager I never considered the 30’s old. Maybe it’s just the mentality of the current generation. Yikes. They are going to feel awful then when they hit 29, lol.

It feels like people who believe that are going to do themselves a disservice as they age. They’ll probably think, “What more is there to life?” when they hit 30+ and imo it’s when things can really start to take off.

Either way, not matter my age, I’ll always be a gamer

If people really think 30 is “old” they’ll get a very rude awakening when they realize time goes by fast when you’re not a teenager any more. I’m 4 years away from 40 & I’m stilling trying to figure out where the hell all the time from 18-36 went.

It’s kind of a tricky thing, because the act of making a Demon Hunter is actually designed to bring out a person’s inner 12-year old no matter what their age. Well, that, or their inner edgy-teenager. Those are the only two flavors of Demon Hunter:

  1. Super excited 12 year old jumping and dashing everywhere. Or…
  2. Edgy teenager “no one understands what I’ve sacrificed” with the "I am my scars!" vibe.

It’s true. I turned 50 last year but gave my Demon Hunter a name ending in “bro”.
