Is This Considered Harassment?

I had an issue earlier in the year where a druid/hunter was basically being obnoxious, and got around my ignore by xfering their toon to a new realm. At the time, I made a thread asking if this counted as circumventing an ignore. And the guy actually had the nerve to come on the forums, and reply-- and name himself in my thread (link above).

Now, that WAS the last I had heard from him, until recently… The other day, I met him again, and I assumed it was just coincidence… He didn’t say anything to anyone this time, but the toon he had looked like mine, and was on my DK’s realm (Sargeras). I’m sitting in Dalaran sometime after, I go afk, and come back, and he’s there doing laps around me. Neither of us say anything.

Then just last night, it’s around 2am, and I am questing on a level 59, in the Azure Span, on the realm of Moon Guard, in OFFLINE MODE, and there is a panda mage standing in the distance just watching me kill mobs… It’s wearing the blood stalker outfit from the trading post. And out of morbid curiosity, I inspect his achievements, and then look at his pet collection. It’s the SAME guy.

He watches me killing quest mobs for like 15 minutes-- just watches, we don’t interact beyond targeting each other– eventually he leaves. But it’s really weird because I hadn’t shown the 59 alt to anyone yet, and it was a totally different realm at a dead time of night, in the middle of no where (Azure Span is a ghost town these days).

I read the article, but I am not sure my situation qualifies-- and I know ticket times are weeks long these days so I dont want to waste anyone’s time-- And the guy is more so being creepy than anything.

Someone who walks around in public space or is watching you in said public space, is not considered ongoing harassment.

I understand where this comes from, and IRL this would be stalking. But since this is a game they can stand where they want to or focus whoever they want as long as they don’t bypass the ignore which they didn’t in this case.

Just to touch on this before folks go wild with this: Ticket times ain’t weeks, just above 24 hours as of a blue post.

Definitely creepy, Vailnite, but no, standing around and allegedly watching your character or in the same general area, etc… isn’t generally considered harassment.

Just to further clarify, ticket times may fluctuate depending on the issue. More generic contacts can be around 4 days at the moment. We have had a big jump in those queues recently. For most issues around accounts, purchases and issues preventing game access, those are well under a day in most cases.

Just adding an additional tip I think might be helpful. Make sure you document everything. Something like this could easily turn into harassment. Especially if the person is bypassing ignores.
