You can build some of the buildings to get materials for mounts, pets, and toys that were crafted during WoD.
You can build an Inn to get more followers to help get the associated achievements with those, as well as the Barracks, or the Forge to make equipment for them.
You can build some of the other buildings for Supplies generation.
You can build the trading outpost to eventually open up AH functionality if you don’t have a long boi.
You can build a mage tower for teleports all over the WoD areas if for some reason Skyriding isn’t fast enough for you.
As for any rewards beyond achievements, mounts, pets, and toys? Nope. They removed pretty much all of it. It used to be a good source of Gold, but nah, we can’t have you getting tangible rewards from past expansions.
I wish they would make the dps test dummies in our garrison update every xpac because I hate the public ones. I would be in my garrison alot more if they did that.
Someone has probably already asked this but is there now one Garrison for all Warband toons?
No, each character has to make their own garrison if they want one.
It’s de facto Player Housing.
That’s about it, as far as I’m concerned.
When you get your port high enough you will be sent on a mission and the reward is a compass. Which is another portal stone that takes you to your sea port. It has a 4 hour cool down and it takes up a spot in your bags but it has come in handy along with the the garrison stone. Think about it.
I periodically tell myself that I’ll do Garrison Invasions once a week to farm the mounts they drop.
I never do.
I lost my car keys in my garrison like 10+ years ago. I go back all the time to look for them.
Car’s been sitting outside of westfall a looooooong time.

We have what, again, nearing a thousand mounts in the game?
Pretty sure whatever mounts come out of that are just recolors of other mounts you can get elsewhere.
I used to be excited about finding or getting mounts, but nowadays it’s so meh.
I know that collecting is a thing in the game, but at some point when they start throwing 10 recolors here, 20 recolors there that you go “oh it’s another mount. /yawn” and toss it in your collection and maybe the random mount feature calls it out 3 years later and you’re like “huh I have no idea where I ever got that mount, I don’t think I ever seen it before”.
Only a few mounts are exceptions, ones that look unique… until they recolor it some years down the line and add 10 variations of it.

a few mounts and cosmetics, other than that throw it to the way-side… unfortunatley. after every expansion they nerf the previous one,
