… you know you can read the rest of what I said, right?
You not knowing how to read doesn’t make me into a mystic needing to look into some crystal ball.
No it doesn’t. You could legit turn on all pally races right now, and just give the races a generic charger (class hall mount) or the standard Ally / Horde ones humans / BE have, and we’d have paladins immediately.
Same with druids, just let them pick from the available animal forms.
Shaman totems would need to be made but they’re simple, static objects, wouldn’t take long at all.
Of course it has to make sense.
Otherwise, it’s just bad writing and not worth defending or building upon.
Nah, not true. Your quote comes from a source from 2013. At the same time, you ignore all other lore on the subject.
It’s not.
There is the cosmic power of the curse to be a gnome, bound to certain attitudes, distinguishing them from humans.
There are always outliers of course, but the player characters come from the middle of society. That means a significant number must follow the same path.
The point is that the existence is a mistake if it doesn’t make sense and you shouldn’t delve into mistakes and expand them.
It works like this in the books.
You are confusing gameplay with lore.
No, only the things that don’t make sense and are inconsistent.
That’s a big problem, yes. They should start to retcon all that stuff.
Read my response to you from 3 days ago. They want to do it, but to do it right takes time and planning. Something you ignore in order to continue trolling these forums.
Get an actual hobby, like knitting, or painting, or whatever else you can think of. Being a forum troll isn’t a hobby.
Although you are cortect in that they don’t want to release an unsatisfying class to folks. When that happens, it isn’t by intention - which is what you are suggesting that they do.
Clearly you didn’t, considering then you’d realize that you are silly beyond belief calling “common sense” somehow someone being “mystic” and “using a crystal ball.”
They have said that they want to do it, and to do it right requires actually making stuff that work for each class, and to release it at a time that makes sense. My guess is that we were going to get paladins or shamans during DF, but we didn’t. We are getting paladins during Midnight instead - which, considering the trailer, makes a whole load of sense in their planning.
If it was a religious thing, Tyrion would not exist.
No, it doesn’t. For paladins, for example, the excuse is “chargers,” right? The charger is, QUITE LITERALLY the already existing racial mount with paladin armor on it. They do not need to make a new model, just do a mesh edit of an already existing one. A 14 year old could do it in an afternoon.
Spoken like someone who has never tried to think critically about anything in their entire life. Come back to me when you find a random 14 year old who is responsible for a 20 year old game (from when it was published) whose code originate from the absolute tailend of the 20th century, available internationally with millions of active players around the entire globe.
Find me the 14 year old that could do that in an afternoon.
No, this isn’t as simple as you want to pretend it is - because that’s the context and scale we are talking about.
Get a real hobby, being a forum troll isn’t a real hobby. I’d recommend knitting or painting.
Good thing it has nothing to do with any of the code at all? Models are basically a 3D picture that you insert into the game. The only code you’d have to change is “use this picture instead of this one.”
Maybe try loading up Blender and doing a tutorial. Then you can see how models are made!
I cook, read, write, watch anime, play music (several instruments), code games, do digital art, speak a variety of languages (4 total), garden (ingredients for cooking, fresh produce is so much better)… but I also enjoy video games, talking about them, debating about them, and lamenting the state they’re in.
Source? Cuz that sounds a lot like “I made it the fudge up”
There is no reason player characters have to come from “the middle” of society whatever that means and anyone coming from “the middle” of society can still take actions contrary to their culture.
It’s too late. It’s fact, it’s reality, it’s canon. You can call it a mistake but it’s part of the world of warcraft now. Which means it’s precedence.
It is not. Fun fact: there is no race/class restrictions in the books.
Unfortunately that’s always been a part of warcraft lore since warcraft: orcs versus humans. So I suppose you don’t like WoW lore then.
Now we’re asking for retcons? Usually lore nerds hate retcons. So once again you do not like wow lore you want it to be changed to fit what you want it to be, not what it is.
Yes it’s canon. There is still nothing to stop a gnome priest from joining the church of the light.

I’m sure that would go over well. It’d make the fallout over the updated character models in WoD pale in comparison.
u probably mean Tirion, who is very strong in his faith.
Here ya go: https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Gnome#Culture
The point of different fantasy people is that they differ not only in appearance from humans, isn’t it?
I’m just repeating the argument that Blizzard previously made on those kind of special cases. After all, it’s an MMORPG and not a single player game.
I’ve never read anything about a gnome warrior.
Portraying a fight decently will be quite difficult without the reader rolling their eyes out of their holes.
Nah. I really like the original Warcraft lore. However, much of the new lore contradicts the old and leads it to absurdity. It is never wrong to correct mistakes you have made. In this case, it is a kind of restoration. Basically, you’re retconning a retcon. Minus x minus equals plus, you see?
The degree of absurdity is, by the way, a spectrum. With some things, you have to look a little closer to recognize it, and thus they are easier to cope with; other things, on the other hand, are completely absurd. (LF Warlocks, mechagnome & undead druids, velf paladins, etc.). You have to draw the line somewhere.
This is such a pointlessly circular discussion. Nobody that wants all classes opened up is ever going to care about the reasons not to. Why bother having the discussion? It’s ultimately up to Blizzard running the numbers.
But yes. he was excommunicated and had his “blessings” stripped from him. And, despite that, he still managed to cast a resurrection which is very very very rare in lore. Using the Light is not about religion – if it was, gnomes wouldn’t be able to use it period.
be careful, i asked for all classes/all races before adding new races, my post was flagged, removed, and i was warned by blizzard that i was trolling the community because i stated an opinion
Sure. He still had his training and his faith, despite excommunication. :!
Learning to wield this healing force[12] takes years of discipline,[13] as it is necessary to learn to abnegate oneself through meditation, in order to become conduits for the Light.[4]
After spending much of their lives in temples studying ancient doctrine, preaching the tenets of their faith, and pledging their full devotion to the divine powers they follow, the most adept priests leave their houses of worship to serve on the battlefield, as shepherd to flock. There, they use their holy powers to bless allies and mend wounds. And while most stay behind the frontlines to aid their comrades, these holy champions are also capable of smiting foes and carrying out sacred justice.
Like priests who serve the Light, paladins are devout in their faith. To serve as an instrument of the Light is to hold an unshakable faith. After spending much of their lives in hallowed halls studying divine doctrine, those who pledge themselves to a holy order become beacons of the Light for their allies in conflict, taking up the heavy armor and weaponry of justice. Stalwart and steadfast, these protectors are ardent defenders of the Light and all that it touches and are rejuvenated by its radiance in return.

Since it is, I’m glad we agree that they don’t make any sense!
I always thought it would be funny if Gnome and Goblins heard about Taurens using the power of the sun to fight, and just used solar panels to channel sunlight to be paladins. Call them Solar Knights or something.
Agreed. Race/class restrictions are very lore violating. It insinuates that free will does not exist.
No-where does it say gnomes are incappable of faith of joining the church of the light.
Gnomes are not biologically or psychologically incapable of faith.
It’s irrelevant.
And yet they exist and are canon.
Sounds like a lack of imagination.
Funny how you can read about some random orc dealing a devastating blow on a demon lord but not imagine a gnome kicking an orcs butt.
Obviously not because warcraft lore has ALWAYS been like this.
This isn’t new.
Doesn’t work that way. Minus and minus is double minus not a plus. If I take your left arm, then take your right arm you don’t get your left arm back you are now missing two arms.
I draw the line at biological impossibility. So far the only time blizzard has drawn that line is with evokers that is the only class tied to biology.
No it’s not because the ability for even a single gnome to have the capacity to become a paladin even theortically is more than enough justification for a player gnome paladin.
Because all of the reasons involve ignoring free will and thus compromise to the believability of the world and setting.
