is it server dependent? i know there all blended up now
idk back in bc my guild hosted a lot of server-wide (faction-wide, really, but whatever) events just because we’d get bored on friday and saturday nights, so we all got to play together on a somewhat regular basis which definitely helps foster that sense of community
that’s an anecdote, i know, but i don’t think it’s a stretch to say that other guilds on other servers operated in a similar manner and with similar results
what servers would you reccomend and can i still pvp on them?
PVP servers are no longer a thing. All servers are the same ( well, RP servers and non-RP servers are really the only distinction)
if you want to engage in world PVP you turn warmode on. if you don’t, you turn it off.
server identity is really a relic of the past. We gave up server communites for cross realm grouping, then we further lost it with CRZ and now even more wtih sharding.
I can’t speak to RP servers, I’ve only ever played on one for a pet-farming toon, but supposedly they have more of the old-school server feel.

You can turn world pvp on or off on any server, it’s a newer function called warmode.

It’s the hub of info these days, and can give you all the detailed info you need.
I’m fairly new on wyrmrest accord, and I’m really digging it.
And yes, world pvp via warmode, instanced pvp via queue.

Well WRA has been my home for like ever, and yes, we have some big PvP guilds.
RP servers have a community, but you still can’t expect it to plop in your lap. If you don’t put in effort you’re going to struggle.
We used to host dueling tournaments back in BC on that giant floating rock in Nagrand. Priests OP.

Most social guilds died this expansion. My many characters join that type of guild, and they’re mostly all gone.
It exists still it just exist in pockets in its own way. There is a new community tab you can join a bunch of other groups. Discords have helped connect.
But if you’re looking for the running around barrens or some other zone and meeting up with people who are on the same quest and just keep playing together then you’re out of luck.
This might work actually. A few expansions ago there were guilds who turned off their XP at the 60/70/80 expansions and tweaked with other things to make those dungeons/raids hard for the level and it was popular but if they still existed I don’t know how they can now.
Though I hate the answer, Classic servers are a thing now. However even that wont be exactly what you remember either.

Now that the goofiness is out of the way I’ll echo what others have already said, use the guild finder tool as it can be remarkably handy in narrowing down a guild that best suits you. And if you ever find yourself Alliance-side on Antonidas, look me up!
And if you need a break from GD (and who doesn’t?) I highly reccommend you stop by the General Discussion Lounge. A lot of great people post in there and I’ve not met a bad person there yet. Be warned though, you may find yourself getting wrapped up in some…odd RP though nothing on the scale of Moonguard Goldshire Inn “odd”.

i was definately hoping for the runnign around the barrens find a homie vibe, but if thats gone well then, you know, ill accept that lol.
