Nope, most of them are lame and toxic.
They have the attitude you see right here, they don’t stop roleplaying the Alliance versus Horde mentality and they swear on it like it’s real life.

aye, thanks sin, i just beat cancer and i live in my friends living room cause i lost my house during covid/cancer treatment. check that privelage homie lol
They’re here because there is NOTHING TO DO IN THIS GAME, they haven’t done TWO YEARS AGO…
Now that i am on an alliance toon i agree this type of behavior of quite cringe
man i’m so wonderful when i post on an alliance toon
Outside of guilds…LOL, no… And even then it’s iffy.
Oh, yes. Current raids are 10-20 man raids.
Says the horde biased player. We’ve both had different experiences…you may have had a bad experience with alliance and i’ve had bad experience with horde, your advice was biased and bad. Both sides have terrrible communities and thats perfectly ok, but horde more factually more toxic due to having more players.
No i’m an Alliance player i’m right and correct in everything i say
you’re being toxic continuing this alliance versus horde mentality and treating it like it’s real life
My Sense of community is delayed and expected to release at some point in Q4
also i never said what faction i had a bad time with
i said they are in general bad and toxic
you’re being biased right now
and i’m posting on an alliance character so of course i am right
I was talking to the forsaken rose player.
You’re still talking to em champ.
And like i said you’re behavior is quite un-ethical.
Stop it
so if im to understand correctly, switch to an rp realm and ill find some general community.
do the whole, guild finder thingy
and basically guild hop until i find people i vibe with?
Our guild is the best and our guild chat has really been replaced by Discord. (Not this toon though.)
discord just gives more functionality than in-game chat.
we can post pictures, videos, memes, emotes, links, etc… we have multiple channels all there right in front of us, we can @ people, etc.
I don’t think I can say that discord has replaced guild chat - if people are online talking, they’re talking in-game. but discord has greatly improved the intra-guild community we have always had, making it easier for people to keep in touch even when not logged in to WoW.
I was a late adopter of discord, I didn’t like it at first - why do we need discord, if we have vent? Why do we need discord if we have forums?
but I was wrong. There’s more guild chatter and interaction going on in discord than there ever was on our forums.
it’s been great, going by my case study of 1 guild
The myth of community in wow is someone selling you bs. I starting playing in early bc and it was the same cut throat crap you see in classic now a days. smh.
what I would do is figure out what you want to do in game, and what you want from a guild, and look for guilds who you think might be a good fit. Don’t hop in a raiding guild, if you don’t raid, don’t hop in a pvp guild if you don’t like pvp, etc.
then just… talk to them. see if your personalities mesh.
maybe they’re super edgy mem-ey 20 year olds and you don’t like that (or do, idk!) - you won’t know until you talk to them or spend time in-guild.
no way, we had so much fun back in vanilla. like for real, general was always full of people talking, sometimes people just being mad goofy. trade was an endless stream of random crap, especially once somone figured out how to put custom text in the clickable colored text. somebody was always hollering about doin some goofball raid on a small AC town, either serious or like, lets all put on tweed armor and go fight at tarren mills with shovels. people always LFG’ing before the stones came, lockboxes, people talking about (following around) server celebrities, my server had a guy named dave who was the first one to get both the rag hammer and that electric sword thing. endless guild recruiting. guild chat was sometimes such a constant stream that it could be hard to hold a convo, vent was always popping off. random group ups to get random ppl to 60, people arguing about farming blackfins and stuff, dance parties in AH and on top of the bank, i mean…i could go on and on and on and on…nobodys selling bs. there were glory days friend, and they were wonderful.
There’s TONS of social guilds. I’m part of quite a few over a good part of seven of my accounts. Lots of good people still play.
i guess thats kinda the thing though, like, i kinda want a guild thats social, does pvp sometimes, and raids sometimes…i dont want some laser focus guild where everything is dead serious and we either pvp, or we raid, or we are social, as if all those things are mutually exclusive, i suppose what im trying to understand is if those things exist?
and furthermore, if there are any servers where if i ask a question in general chat ill get nearly any response at all lol, which seemed to be the RP ones, but if im not mistaken, you cant pvp on RP servers is that correct?
