What makes you think they have spit in anyone’s face?
Can we get a mod to sticky this on the front page of GD?
By making you do 1-2 hours a day of chores to even slightly progress? That’s some casual players entire playtime, and it’s not at all entertaining to do.
Why is it a good thing that it’s not fun to play the game?
Just because he agrees with you doesn’t mean he’s right, or that it’s a good post. It’s not. It’s just as fallacious as always, while also insulting the majority of the playerbase.
Is that really sticky-worthy behaviour? MvP-worthy behaviour?
Not without more elaboration over generic statements.
What 1-2 hours a day of chores do you need to progress as a casual player?
I have done nothing but M+ over the last week and a day, so I’m confused on what I am missing, truthfully.
Some casuals dont do mythic + cos we don’t like it/want to/have time to?
That is not the point. Let’s try to stick to one point at a time haha
That depends on what you want to do. Renown is gated, and has the covenant story as well as player power locked behind it. That requires a solid 20-30 minutes (usually more, depending on if it’s a bad one with bad WQs), plus there’s also Maw things to do and Torghast.
Then if you want to actually play - do a dungeon and the like - that’s more time. Bonus if you want to actually see the other covenants and have to do it all over again on an alt.
If that’s the case then casual players shouldn’t complain about end game content or that they’re left behind, the whole concept of being a casual is lost when they refuse to participate in half the game’s content but will complain about not getting loot or progression instead.
Let’s actually talk about M+, since you refused to address the point of WQ ilvl drops and also the reduction of loot in general.
How do you feel about the M+ loot changes? That’s yet another brake pedal to try and slow down the playerbase.
Got it, so nothing then.
None of that is “daily” and none of it takes more than 1-2 hours a week at most.
And none of it is mandatory if you aren’t looking to play the game seriously.
Ok so what does casual mean to you?
The success you speak of stopped when the game left the store shelf and is not related to a disconnect with the player base once the “Play” button is clicked. That is where the issues roll out.
M+ isn’t at all related to progression outside of gearing, and shouldn’t be used as a way to determine if someone, “refuses” to participate in that kind of gameplay.
Also, I’ll ask you too - they nerfed loot drops in general, and M+ loot as well. How is that a good thing?
I was a huge supporter of titanforging and feel this version of loot in general is just worse in every way, but I am willing to ride it out and see how it works for sure.
Its going to make the game a lot harder for a guild like ours though, that’s for sure.
I was pretty straight forward with my comment.
Casuals that Blizz worked so hard to get into the game are being sold a whole game and then told they won’t be able to access part of it.
AND before you even say it, I know that it was diff in classic and BC, and if it had stayed that way and Blizz had continued to cater to hardcore players then that would be fine, but they didn’t, they set an expectation; spend the money and experience the WHOLE game, that was even the expressed idea by Blizz, they loudly proclaimed come play WoW and for the first time experience all of the end game content.
Spit—face
This is what I don’t get, why do players feel the need to think of optional content as chores? They can be done throughout the week or as quick as possible depending on your style, and the devs have provided ways to do both.
Uh yeah.
So people hated the busywork of BFA.
We get to grind WQ (Which people hated) to get conduits (Which give meaningless passives at incredibly low %) so we can fill a talent tree (Which they already removed because it was too simple).
Now to get my legendary for raiding I need to grind the Maw (for upgrades) so I can grind Torghast (Which everyone I know hates) so I can spend soul ash on a legendary that gives me a single passive ability that is ALSO a minor passive upgrade.
It’s like they have never talked to anyone who plays the game before.
If all I want to do is log in and pet battle no, it’s not. But if I want to actually experience the expansion I need to do it. And that just doesn’t interest me, so I don’t even bother playing after 15-20 minutes. It’s just boring, grindy, and not fun.
Classic is less grindy.
