Is the game dying? Should they stick to the "Just like release" attitude?

Yeah, he’s a trip.

Think about it, you think he’s alone here?

The massive drop in players was inevitable it was marketed to 2 groups: those who love Vanilla and only want to play vanilla and Twitch hype.

Hype is gone and a lot of “followers” are gone too.

I say good riddance.

Phase 3.

Yes.

People need to be leaving in order for layers to go away. Hopefully Blizzard hit the mark so when things stabilize populations are still healthy. But right now people leaving not only isn’t a concern, but is in fact a good thing.

I’d be very surprised if you ran out of things to do at 60 before battlegrounds come out in phase 3. I have my epic mount and all my pre-raid BiS except for just a few things. There’s still weekly raids, plenty of gold to farm, consumables to stock up on, alts to level etc…

Sigh…

Layers are gone and servers dont have queues with exception of like 2-3. Pretty obvious massive drop. Server pops at peak times are significantly lower and they were updated to reflect the actual server not to compare to the highest pop server.

Pretending otherwise is delusional lol.

yeah agreed…lol guess the hype has drop…i guess ppl can’t get a grip when ppl are losing interests in the game they love??

Yeah cult like behaviour generally doesnt accept dissenting opinions very well lol. Especially when it clearly proves they are wrong.

Big deal, J. Allen was right. The twitch generation thought they did but they didnt. Who cares, the true vanilla fans still got what they wanted.

Its not the end of the world people dont care to auto attack and spend 80 hours of their life watching pixels running around just to get to 60.

People didnt know better 15 years ago… then BC and WOTLK happened.

They need to fast track these releases. Both have greater player retention appeal.

Its basically putting your money on the fringe players that think flying ruined WoW and if they released a version without flying everyone would flock to it an experience the immersion of a true MMO. Well this is your proof.

Quite the Stockholm syndrome you for going on here, as you clearly don’t like the game but refuse to leave.

Where did I say I didnt like it?

Sorry I can objectively discuss the game and its market appeal (or lack thereof).

Join a more active guild. The game is alive and well, but you’re currently in a setting where it feels dead because you have an observational bias.

There will be posts like this and posts saying the game isn’t dying between and after each phase. It’s only after Naxx releases will we get any sort of REAL knowledge as to the health of the game.

Actually, I’m hoping Blizz says something about population trends at Blizzcon.

I doubt they will, but I’d like some hard data rather than endless speculation and catastrophizing.

heeeeey,

a month later the more casual player are waking up to what the more hardcore have been saying : lack of content, phases have to be released faster, especially BGs.

I’ll give you the same answer we’ve been giving for the past month: it’s your fault for rushing / start an alt ( and do the same things again) / grind gold / grind useless rep!

This is entirely normal. Most people have a schedule which allows for playtime in the evenings.

Not to be rude, but what did you expect? This is an old-school MMORPG. Hell, even BfA has a ton of grinding, if not more. Might be worth considering that this genre of video game isn’t for you.

It definitely won’t, don’t worry. It may not garner the Twitch views it did at launch, but there will always be a dedicated fanbase that will continue to play, and many seasonal players will return as content is released, only to lose interest again a month later. It’s normal!

This is what triggered looks like.
