Is TBC your WOTLK waiting room?

I, Myself really have a huge heart and heavy nostalgia for TBC. I’m absolutely in love with TBC. Through my adventures in outlands and through the raids, I’ve noticed something. EVERYONE is hyped for WOTLK haha. Everyone says they can’t wait for WOTLK! Some people are downloading achievement add ons that they can keep track of to have it ready in WOTLK. I have had many great memories in old TBC and WRATH! So I can jump on this hype train.

I wanted to post tho, and ask. Do you feel like you put more time into TBC knowing that WOTLK is 99.99999% chance of coming out? Are you exploring all the zones? Are you leveling alts just to prepare for WOTLK? Is TBC your WOTLK waiting room?

Nope.

I loved TBC for TBC. I loved Wrath for wrath. I play TBCC to play it and if/when wrath classic hits I’ll play it to play it.

They both have their place and both will be played for what they are.

I can’t wait to be a death knight again, but crusade isn’t just a waiting room for me either. I’m taking the opportunity to enjoy a bunch of other classes and raid outlands. As a rogue, I wouldn’t mind getting some war glaives. I have 4 70s, 2 60s, and thought about bringing up a new paladin or druid. Those and hunter are the only classes left.

Yes…and no. I like the content of TBC and enjoy it, so I am not really doing things specifically in preparation for WotLK. That said, I enjoyed Wrath more, so I’m looking forward to it. I was initially happy playing TBC the way it was, but I am now hitting a wall and wishing for LFD. I don’t think that is going to happen and I’m not going to campaign for it, but there are a few things like that that made WotLK more enjoyable for me - not to mention I liked the story better.

Yes and no, I like TBC but Wrath is the superior game so I’m definitely looking forward to it.

That said there’s also things I wanted to in TBC I didn’t do the first time around and I’m enjoying doing those.

Just enjoying it for what it is/was. I’ve had good memories on classic and tbc so far. Despite starting late and most missing a good place in a raid to get my rogue geared. I’ll still level both hunter and rogue to 70 just like I did when the content was current.

I’m really just reliving my college days.

TBC is my favorite expansion. WOTLK is a close second. I’m not in any rush. Only thing I’m finding sad is dead server + raid logging by everyone.

Classic Vanilla was my TBC waiting room. Now that were here I am in no hurry to get to WotLK.
TBC is the superior game… WotLK is a good game, but its where WoW starts its decent.
IMO

No. I really enjoyed WoW Classic. Actually a lot more than I thought I would. I had played the original vanilla WoW, but not its end-game, so it was a great glimpse into the original character design, imo.

When TBC launched, I played for a couple of days, but just wasn’t into it. Maybe I was burnt out of WoW, so I took a break, and just came back a couple of weeks ago. That gave me a chance to roll a fresh character, and dungeon level while meeting and forming a great community. I’m actually glad I waited now, as it seems like perfect timing to be getting into things.

Anyway, TBC brings some interesting changes over Vanilla. Paladins are sure better tanks than they were! There’s a lot more of a focus around 5-man instance content at end-game, with reputation rewards, attunements, and heroics, so that’s fun. And of course Arenas bring another dynamic to PVP.

From my current perspective, the biggest changes coming with WotLK are LFD and Dual Spec, and at that point, I’m thinking it might as well just be Retail. I’m not strongly against Dual Spec (though I’m not protesting outside of Blizzard asking for it), but I do have strong opinions against LFD. I suppose it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I suppose I’d be more optimistic about WotLK if I had any reason to believe that we’d be getting patch progression, and the opportunity to play DKs in their original iteration. Tanking heroics as an UH DK would a fun experience, in my opinion. But, we’ll most likely get them in the end-state from Wrath, so blood tanking from phase 1.

I personally can’t wait to play sub rogue again when it was actually fun, Backstab had a reasonable energy cost, and Shadow Dance existed. None of this Hemo spam boring garbage.

TBC stands for To Be Continued (in WOTLK). /s

This is my first time really playing through TBC, Never did private servers but right now p5 is such a snoozefest, as I really just wanna get the Netherwings and go do BT for that Felhunter styled staff+Skull of Guldan so…

It’s catch up time for me to get my alts prepped and ready for 70 (for the WOTLK prepatch) along with getting the items that we all know disappear in WOTLK (naxx) or ones that dramatically change for the players on my server.

What if vanilla, tbc, and wotlk are all just parts of WoW and we really just like WoW?

Why is the WoW playerbase so tribalistic? Retail vs Classic tribe isn’t enough? Now we need Retail vs Classic vs TBC vs Wotlk tribes? Just play what you want and stop being a pretentious snob.

No.

WOTLK is way easier of game than TBC. The only thing going for it that’s a positive over TBC is better pvp balance. Other than that it’s an inferior product.

Isle of Conquest is lame.
Strand of the Ancients is lame unless you’re a LazerChicken on offense

Blizzard tried to split the Feral tree into three specs (PVE Bear, PVE Cat, PVP) and it’s annoying.
Blizzard indirectly nerfs Resto Druids (not that we didnt deserve it) by making Insect Swarm and Feral Charge a 21-point talent
Nourish lol (meanwhile Paladins still have no HoT and their only ‘AOE’ is glyphed Holy Light)
cant Starfall + travel form

horrible horrible Fan of Knives sound effect

NAXX TEN ROFL

Wintergrasp with ‘modern CPUs/GPUs’ tho … could be fun if faction balance was actually something Blizzard made a half-assed effort to manage

I liked WoTLK, but looking back, I definitely liked TBC more. But WoTLK has DIVINE STORM … so it’s a toss-up.

I’m kind of in the middle. T5 isn’t anything crazy besides Vashj and KT and I hear T6 is generally a step down, but I’m having fun with TBC raiding. Starting to get more into alts so I can have some for WOTLK. No attunements for alt raiding will be nice.

But I’m also trying to play other games so I’m constantly juggling what I want to do. We will see how many 70s I actually end TBC with…ended with 4 in OG and don’t have a second yet.

I play tbc because I like tbc. If I was gonna treat tbc like a waiting room then I wouldn’t play it. I will play wrath for wrath when it comes out.

When WotLK drops, I’ll likely never play any other incarnation of WoW.

Hands down the best expansion.
