I’ve been running a spider for the whole expansion and did the tower endless thing solo with a spider tanking.
I usually run JoJo (gorilla) on solo content, but I have ran whatever pet I had out for Torghast.
Probably isnt, I formed my opinions about torghast at launch.
So… I personally prefer SV hunter. I don’t think it’s perfect. I am also going to be in the minority of the minority and say I preferred it in legion more.
Legion involved me using lacerate on main Target , serpent sting and carve on adds to spread dots and explosive trap. You kept the up and used fury of the eagle when off cd. I found this much more rewarding that the no traps, bomb build that’s been going on since bfa. I also dislike there is no semblance to the legion playstyle anymore. I do not find the bomb charges or wildfire is nearly as rewarding because of how impactful it is on rotation, and it changes your rotation so significantly for the cut to focus Regen… and I just enjoy the trap launching. I was very upset Hunters didn’t get back all our traps and stings.
I get to the point now after legion though that I constantly go back to SV. I do not find BM play rewarding. Some like it, and that’s perfectly fine. It’s just boring. MM has felt off since legion. The stagnation of sit and get off as many aimed shots as possible is just not the same as the old kite style. Lock and load does not make up for this in my opinion. Again, some people love it and that’s perfectly fine.
What has me as SV now is I love the mobility and there’s more to it than BM or MM. You mostly do have to be in melee, but you have options of getting in and out and it’s more challenging to me. Plus season 2 10+ affix has you doing this anyhow.
I personally love SV. I like how fast paced the rotation is, able to weave in and out of melee, harpooning in for freezing traps on healers, the multiple builds you can play around with, and it has great talent choices for arenas (mending bandage, trackers net, chimaeral sting.)
Imo, SV is the most fun class in arenas currently. Especially in 2s, it has a great toolkit. I do play BM and MM as well time to time but I don’t like the cast times of MM hunter and BM the rotation is just very unrewarding for me. I have played Unholy DK for a long time but SV kind of replaced it for me. I like the mobility and the outplay potential of SV.
I’ll probably make SV hunter my main in 9.2 since we’ll get the double legendary option so I can play Pouch and Craven and also the tier set bonus which gives me more incentive to play wildfire infusion again in PvP over chakrams. Make latent poison baseline please and thank you.
However, it is not for everyone. If you do not like melee classes you probably will not enjoy this spec even though most of it’s abilities are ranged. Also, it does have a pretty high APM and the rotation can be complicated (especially if you play mongoose and try to capitalize on the buff window) compared to other classes.
Side note: I’ve always liked Rexxar and thought it’d be cool to play a melee hunter although I do wish we could dual wield axes like him.
I like how you just completely disregard an entire aspect of the game, (PvP) where SV is insanely good. It’s the only spec that’s well balanced and feels good to play.
It’s almost much harder to play SV well than it is BM or MM
Just know that most people here who bash survival are 1600 cr and below players and/or level 10 private profile characters.
There will forever be angry people who cannot learn how to play a melee who will cry until the end of time about MSV.
Its because hes terrible at PVP and cant excuse the fact the top MSV player is over 3k, but would say if he had a bow he would be at 4k rating (lul)
Hes not ready for this
Survival is good in PvP despite being melee, not because of it.
I’m not sure which part of my post you intended to respond to or what you intended to prove. In any case the overwhelming majority of Hunters in rated PvP right now are playing BM. When Survival was far and away the best option in PvP (throughout BFA) there were just a lot fewer Hunters playing PvP. So evidently for most Hunters Survival is not the spec that feels best to play.
Just make sure you don’t take anything pvp related seriously from 1600 players in this thread. They have 0 clue what they’re talking about in any capacity.
Is BM not the most played Hunter spec in PvP?
Would Survival not be stronger in both PvE and PvP if it were ranged?
So there are still people that dont understand that SV being strong and still barely played just supports the argument that hunters overwhelmingly dont want to play melee.
Balance druids are doing great but as a resto druid that doesnt mean I wanna play it. Its a preference. Bepples you try to hard bra
BM doesn’t even feel good to play lmao, you don’t even have to think to play it, it’s so braindead.
No one plays BM because it’s fun or feels engaging. They play it because it’s easy, doesn’t require any thought, and is overpowered.
It supports the argument that BM needs to be nerfed lol, why would anyone want to play a spec that’s harder to play well over a spec where you can turn your brain off and do well more often
Some probably play it because they feel that way. However, using that as a blanket statement that supposedly fits all, is all but the truth.
I’m saying it because everyone I’ve spoken to that plays BM in PvP says exactly what I’ve said. I’ve yet to come across anyone who finds the spec fun and engaging in the slightest.
Considering your aversion to the truth, this is comical.
Provide one example of when I’ve done as much.
Btw, you really should pick 1 character and stick to it. You’re not fooling anyone by constantly switching between them.
You think really highly of yourself if you think the different avatars had anything to do with you. But I’ll dissuade you, I race changed one and name changed another. When you do these things, the forum avatar changes. You aren’t nearly important enough to warrant any actual care.
And you lie all of the time about past SV. Your posts are littered with untruths about the spec and why people did or did not play it.
