Did you write that whole raging paragraph just because you didnt understand the difference between “primarily maining” and “ONLY playing”? I didnt yet see where you might have said that you primarily main melee, but even if this wasnt the case, your whole paragraph isnt based on something that was said and is only there so other people who also cant read can clap and think you totally showed someone (see the post after you).
Again, absolutely. However, any mage spec had its time as the most popular, any rogue and any warlock spec. Even enhancer had its moment where it was more popular than Ele. Im not sure about feral, however even there, the difference between the specs isnt as insane as it is with MSV. There is a huge difference in the popularity of say Feral and SV. Even when MSV was the strongest, its still one of the least played specs.
You cant on the one hand say that popularity is gerenally tied to performance (which i agree with) but then completly ignore the fact that MSV doesnt get any popularity even if its performance is great.

With your text, you missed the mark again. Noone is arguing that you have to play ranged in order to understand why people like playing ranged, that would be absurd. This was in response to Rensi’s lack of understand why people wouldnt like playing SV. He is primarily playing melee specs, so this might be an indication as to why he doesnt understand why people would prefer the ranged spec to come back.
However, you criticise exactly what Toxi is trying to do. He wants to discount every argument just because he believes the people just havent played the spec, even when shown otherwise. If this is what youre mad about, you need to be mad about Toxi and and his drivel.

Honestly im very surprised. You were kind of able to follow the argumentation here. Thats a first for you, good job!
Now, i have actually worded this pretty badly, this is my fault. Let me try to phrase this better.
It is not impossible to understand why people like ranged even if they primarily play melee. It is also not impossible to understand why people prefer melee even if they mainly play ranged. Especially since its rather easy to dabble in the other playstyle and get a feel for it. It is absolutely possible to understand this. Now, Rensi, by his own admission, didnt understand why people prefer ranged. This can have various reasons. It might have something to do the fact that he primarily plays melee. It can, it doesnt have to. Thats at least my position.
Now if you havent forgotten Toxis posts, he is of the opinion that every argument you could make is meaningless if you havent played the specific spec, even if the argument isnt even based on knowledge of the spec. You should be really mad about him right now. Go bark at him!
edit: Oh, and Rensis last post is a failure not because of someone playing some spec, but because he went bananas on the statement that he “ONLY” plays melee, which was never said. It was only said that he mainly plays melee, which is something he himself said.

Here in lies your problem, and why you’re disingenuous with most of what you say. I was responding to a specific person with that comment. I even quoted said person. The same person who has spent the last six years derailing any legitimate discussions about SV.
This means it had nothing to do with you. So any points I made toward you have nothing at all to do with that comment and what you’re quoting. Care to try again? Maybe without being such a liar this time?

Do you even hear yourself? How is it relevant that you responded to a specific person? I responded to you, a specific person, as well. You want to tell me you dont like personal attacks as first response while i have been answering to you for quite a few posts already, this was not my first response to you and you have been nothing but a toxic burden to this thread so far. On the other hand i can show you that YOU did that very thing in your actually very first response in this thread. Does this not compute with you?
The only way you can still make sense is that you totally love personal attacks as long as theyre not leveraged against you. Which would actually be fitting.
It’s hard to grasp that you can’t understand the pure fallacy in your position. My statement to Bepples, was specific to Bepples. It had nothing to do with what I said to you. I also could care less whether you personally attack me or not, what I said was an observation about that’s what you resort to when you attempt to make an argument, get called on the shear idiocy of said argument, and then resort to attacking as your first retort. And you’re response was to point out something that was said to someone else. Again, you’re disingenuous at best, or really need to brush up on your reading comprehension.

The worst tragedy of the SV change was the loss of the most thematically hunter spec in the game. Now its as if the most thematically hunter spec in the game doesnt even get to equip a ranged weapon, which is a shame.
BM and MM are not bad specs, but they fail to scratch that wilderness martial itch for my class fantasy, and considering how passionate people are about this debate, it would appear that is the case for a lot of players.
