I have a vague recollection of a blue or green post indicating that anyone found to be false flagging could be punished but I can’t recall where - it was certainly a long time ago.
Thing is, you won’t see people talking about it here generally because discussing punishments can, itself, cause further punishment. So we don’t really know how often it happens.
Me personally, I think it’s rare. I don’t see how the moderators would have the time to assess every single flag to see if the reason stated is justified. It’s one reason I think flagging should be removed and replaced with a manual report function, one that takes a lot more time to do, where a precise reason has to be given and where no post is automatically greyed out while being checked. That way false flaggers would not get the satisfaction of seeing the results of their actions.
Fact is, the Mute function provides a perfectly acceptable way not to view that post or its comments again. Except in the case of truly obnoxious posts or comments, flagging is rarely necessary.
I can’t find it either, it’s one of those things that happened to magically disappear. Probably the magical mod delete button since they knew it would be used against them since they won’t action anyone for it. I’ve spent a handful of hours altogether trying to find it.
I hope you don’t actually believe this. lol
People complain about suspensions and “unjust” forum suspensions all the time, here and in customer support. If people were actually being actioned we’d see threads about it.
Yeah, I got flagged because I didn’t speak in reverent tones regarding the patron saint of SJWs - George Floyd. Had the nerve to say he wasn’t assassinated. (He was murdered. Big difference.)
Surprisingly I wasn’t actioned, and they “unburied” my post.
There have been times my op has been flagged and restored 4-5 times lol, it is pretty clear they are false flag and no mod agreed with the false flaggers
They can always voice it, but that is the thing, they don’t want to express disagreement, they want to ban and remove any kind of behavior that doesn’t adhere to their site’s culture and behavior, here’s a perfectly example of how it was used against certain group in the past.
Some people simply can’t handle watching others be free of shame and just enjoying ourselves instead of chaining and limiting our selves by their dumb norms
If a post is restored by a mod it is clear it does not violate the CoC, the angry hateful people who want to see deviant behavior try to twist the CoC to tell themselves they can report anything they dont like, but reality says otherwise.
Especially when it is clear there is no CoC violation and it is just being used as a downvote.
I got flagged the other day thought I was for something mean I said but nope just a normal topic. I didn’t dispute it as I didn’t wanna go through what ever hassel that is then 6 hours later it was restored and unflagged
Quick edit maybe I shouldn’t have said anything in this topic bunch of angry people up in here lol
Well, technically he is not discussing a disciplinary action “taken against” a player, but rather about a disciplinary action “not being taken and whether it should or should not be taken against a player”.
