I have noticed that many players on these forums will report any opposing view to their own, and false flag another players opinion to have them silenced on these forums. This is similar to how players are falsely reporting players in game to have them silenced as well. Is there any repercussions to falsely reporting another player?
People who report other users that are not breaking the TOS should have to face some kind of ramifications. These forums are meant to give players “in all walks of life” the ability to voice their own opinion to help further the topics of discussion (as long as it isn’t break TOS), it isn’t made for a certain group of people to gang up on others and try to have them silenced to create their own echo chamber every time a view point conflicts with their own. These types of players should not be able to abuse the report feature and get away with it.
Update My post has now been falsely flagged 4 times, hidden and then restored since it’s creation. I hope this OP helps highlight that there is indeed a dark side of this forum where people are abusing the report feature for their own personal gain. I wanted to say thank you to the GM for reviewing my post and restoring it to not allow these false flaggers to get away with it again. Let this be an example that this is very common on these forums (and also in game) and should be addressed. Thank you.
Oh so I can’t use my own example as part of my own post. I gotchya, I also didn’t use any chat logs or emails between me or a GM. But thanks for not false flagging me.
I looked through your history, and it looks like you like you made what you considered a “funny joke” on the thread that was happy about trans representation in the game.
You’re leaving out pertinent information, OP.
The report feature has this category:
“It’s Trolling
This post is inflammatory, extraneous or upsetting.”
Why do I feel as if a reasonable person could find your “music lyric” on the trans rights thread to fall into that category?
Can we stop using me as an example please, this post has nothing to do with it. It has to do with false flaggers, unless you both are trying to defend the system for some reason. Hmmm, I wonder what that could be.
This is exactly the example I was talking about, instead of adding to the conversation, they try to bring up my post history as their example of why this system is good. I bet they are going to try to silence me again lol.
That is not true, if you are silenced for being falsely reported, it can take days in order to get a GM to review it and then determine if it was breaking TOS or not. So in the mean time, you are being punished for something you didn’t do.
