I just want to say I miss Koro and that cute, fun panda hunter. She was hilarious.
Both of them were.
Oh, I tried to be as vague as possible, however then being threatened with being false flagged again (we know who started it) was enough for me to edit my post in fear of now being silenced again.
i think the intent behind the post is what decides it.
if youre looking to cause trouble, you get in trouble. if youâre trying to genuinely add to the conversation but dont fully control your behavior, less trouble. if you have an opinion but very clear good intention, no trouble.
and by trouble, i mean banned vs post deleted vs all posts deleted + ban.
so while there is a lot of false flagging going on, i think moderators generally handle them with similar rules. (they seem less robotic lately)
I think itâs the assumed intent behind the post. Too many times Iâve seen people jump on someone because they misunderstood their post.
We all read with our inner voice and if weâre having a bad day, around people who are negative, it can rub off on us and then we read what someone wrote and get mad at them.
Thatâs just some. Thereâs at least one thatâs downright bonkers. Again, not much can be done about it.
Flaggers gonna flag. It is what it is.
Maybe it wasnât a false flaggingâŚ
The TOS dictates what is and what isnât false flagging. Donât be a knucklehead.
Thereâs nothing assumed though. People react the way they do. If they vocalize their interpretation, and youâre bothered by it, then clear it up with them or point out what you mean. If they still misunderstand, then you have to chalk it up as a difference of opinion or realize that you can work on better communication. But I donât see this type of introspection from the OP, and he seems to want to lay all the blame on this elusive group of âfalse flaggersâ.
I didnât read all the posts but I have had this happen to me a few times because people choose to be easily offended.
I rarely, if ever, flag a post, because people have a right to post their opinions.
What they donât have a right to is shoving their opinions down othersâ throats by belittling, criticizing and insulting to try to beat others down. This is called bullying.
On my facebook, I am friends with all kinds of people and allow them to post things they donât agree with on something I shared. As long as they are respectful about it. I do not try to control others but I will not allow others to try to control me when I choose to voice my beliefs and opinions.
Same bunch that abused down vote button.
If they vocalize it. Thatâs a big if.
Some donât. They just flag, move on or, more often they stay in the thread and talk to others about how they flagged the OP.
Thatâs abusive behaviour.
You keep saying false flagging, but I donât think you actually know what it means.
Flagging your post for breaking CoC is not false flagging. Thatâs just a fact. Iâm sorry if you canât see that.
Pretty much this. I got âflagged for trollingâ but never silenced when the mods take a look at it. It helps to not put much stock into the WoW forums. I view trust levels as a joke and am here to have fun.
While I think this thread and the OP are entirely ridiculous and absolutely pointless, I have seen it done. A lot of times they do it to like their own posts as well to make it seem like others agree with them.
You already got your answer.
Ask the moderators.
All this topic has ended up being is people pointing fingers at each other.
Is that what you intended?
Iâm pretty sure that sets off some kind of extra alarm for the mod team, because every time Iâve seen it done the post is restored almost instantly.
It is exactly that, yes.
yes, they do. its childish but this joke forum lets them get away with it, so they will keep doing it.
About the 3rd time its obvious that the person is abusing the flag they should get a 30 day break to teach them to stop doing it.
No, if there were people being punished weâd see the complaints on the forum about it after their short suspensions were up. So far weâve seen 0 threads about people being unjustly suspended for trying to clean the forum up. Iâve seen people laughing and bragging about abusing the system, there is nothing being done about it. Which I think is pathetic since Blizzard stated that they would action people doing so.
It is the consequence of the removal of the down vote system. When it was removed the only way people had to express disapproval/disagreement was to flag. They donât punish the false flags so the cycle continues.
Down voting needs to come back.
I doubt they do something about this, false allegations, cancel culture and mob mentality are taking control over everything on the internet, it roots in the violent nature of humans to do these kinds of things, i really hate the moment the stupid âlikeâ and âdislikeâ button got implemented in every discussion online platform, i miss old vbulletin forums.
Nothing is being done about anything on these boards. Blizzard stopped caring. Everything is automated. If you lose Trust level, you canât get it back.
