Is Something Being Done About the False Flaggers of These Forums?

This conversation is steering towards discussing punishments. Which is against the terms, yo

you are assuming people know that a moderator has cleared the flags and I have seen threads where the moderator shouldn’t have cleared flags because it is obvious the CoC were breached.

Ah yes, the forums poster that believes they know the CoC better than mods xD

Dont mind me if I dont take you very seriously xD

not that I care if you take me seriously or not because I sure don’t take you seriously but for everyone else example one - a thread that was flagged and then cleared and flagged again - a whole lot of insults and inflammatory statements in this.

I must be weird, I will actually sometimes like posts I disagree with if they are polite and well written. As for flagging, for me to flag a post it has to be really offensive - which takes serious effort.

OP is not targeting a specific player or character, they are opening a discussion on whether there should the ToS should include those who false flag on a regular basis without any consequences.

I approve 100%.

Don’t be part of the problem, be part of the solution.

And that is a perfect example of a call out post that gets people defensive because they are the target of it, I cant disagree with what she is saying, she is pretty honest and direct and that is good. There is no heavy insulting, you simply got defensive or offended so you are trying to twist the minor call outs as “big dangerous inflammatory statements”

call out posts aren’t allowed for one but this isn’t a call out post

I didn’t get offended, I gave you an example.

And see the problem isn’t whether you agree or disagree, it is that insults which there were many in that post are against the CoC, it is called trolling.

There was no reason to call people scrubs or saying they are spewing tripe. If I said either of those things to you right now, I would likely get reported and face a forum vacation.

One fine example are the Asmongold call out threads, those threads violate numerous CoC rules. About half a week ago there was the one that stayed up for days and a mod unflagged it a few times. The title alone broke forum rules, it wasn’t until people started calling the mods out on their piss poor moderation that the thread was actually locked, I was actually in the middle of a response when they locked it.

It doesn’t take a genius to read the very black and white forum code of conduct rules. A kid in elementary school should easily be able to understand the rules. lol

I was punished or warned for it once, I can’t remember

Oh they did end up locking that one. I actually emailed the feedback team because it was staying up. But you are correct both locked and delisted now.

It was pretty pathetic that it stayed for the 2 or whatever days it did, I don’t think it hit 3 days though. But still, the mods continued to unflag the thread. The OP broke countless rules. It’s either we have mods that don’t care, mods that enjoy watching their own forum go in in the flames, or there are no mods. No idea which.

I’m not aware of that particular thread but posters knee jerk reactions to any thread made on Asmongold, is another problem this forum has and is quite relevant to OP.

Posters need to accept that not everything needs to fit their personal taste. Being entertained from content made from WoW is not something that needs to be shunned.

That thread was made to target Asmongold - it fell under harassment and was involved with making false statements about that person.

I couldn’t make a thread about you today on this forum and say you are a ‘such and such’ (don’t even want to repeat it) but for some reason the poster figured it was okay to make one about a streamer.

It had nothing to do with what you are suggesting.

This isn’t going to happen without punishments actually going out for abusing the flagging system. If punishments were handed out then people might think twice about flagging something.

Imagine if murder and robbery had no consequences irl. Yikes.

Yeah, that wasn’t what I was defending. Clearly spiteful.

It’s comforting to know that community are having this discussion, at least.

More fitting example would be false flagging emergency services.

Nope, ppl openly admit to false flagging others and are still around posting

Sure, but OP has a pretty flimsy definition of false flagging, and the examples he gave as well as the one that I gave were perfectly valid reasons to report a post.

I don’t see a problem.

That’s why you posted a bunch more times in that thread to complain about people flagging you, right? And then presumably it happened again elsewhere which is what led you here.

You may be it.
