They have taken action against people abusing the system. Don’t remember who posted the story. It was copied over from the customer service forum. A couple of yahoos mass reported a group to get them all silenced. Then they reported each other.
All to “prove a point”.
They both got action taken against them for abusing the system.
So yes, they DO take action when people actively abuse things.
Any other views on the matter are strictly my own. So I’m going to stick to just the facts for the question you asked.
They DO however punish people who abuse the system.
What it takes for them to consider it abuse … I can’t speak on that. I can only cite that as a very solid example that people who abuse the system are punished.
They don’t “lock” anymore automatically, thank god that changed. But yes, it was already spam flagged on 4 separate occasions.
No idea who you even are, thanks for noticing me though.
I could easily report your post here, it violates the forum code of conduct twice but I’m not childish enough to do so. If anything, my posts in this thread are wanting less policing done by players. Learn to read, this is elementary stuff.
Not really, just use the search function on the forum and search for the author. When I’ve wanted to call someone out on things they’ve said I have never scrolled through their feed, I use the search function. It’s much easier and you filter out all the stuff you don’t care to see.
I seem to think you didn’t read what I said. I was talking about entire threads being locked not an OP being buried, my reply to which you originally took issue with was in response to this.
They still do. If they get too many reports, they automatically lock for 24 hours. I’ve seen it happen a few times recently when people pushed for positive changes, but enough trolls kept trolling the thread. They got reported, and wham, thread locked for 24 hours.
I have seen a thread auto lock within the last 2 weeks. I am pretty sure they still do. That actually served a function, I am not sure why they would remove it. Regardless, I have never seen one of those threads where no one didn’t deserve to be flagged.
Because it is more rare that a well coordinated group would abuse the report function for their benefit, if it was a specific group it would be easy for the mods to find merely by looking on the reports.
The far more common behavior is people simply false flagging whatever they dont like, whatever doesnt fit with their view or doesnt adhere to their expected site standards aka every single thread that might be talking about LGBT character for example.
Imo they need to simply start sending warning to all people who false flag after a mod clears the flags, then at the 5th time this happens they receive a temp ban.
You must not know anything about two certain discords that would literally coordinate together to target certain threads, posts, and users. This started with the high elf stuff. lol
This platform is blizzard’s forum, not a US court of law. Nothing says your post is innocent until proven guilty. The flag system will hide it, and then later a mod can review and unlock if necessary. You should know all this.
